That is a great chance. Otamendi, in the box with a free header. He has got to score.

  3. CLOSE!published at 51 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

City corner, a good delivery and Nicolas Otamendi is free on the penalty spot. He connects firmly, but heads into the turf and it spins wide.

In a game as tight as this that's a decent chance!

We should have video refereeing yes, but we don't and the linesman was 1mm away from the right call. Get over it to be honest, Arsenal should have been given a pen near the end for clear foul on Alexis so it would be 1-1 anyway, stop moaning. Just pretend it's 1-1 if you fancy it!

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

David Silva has gone off, Sergio Aguero took a whack in the first half, and now to complete the trilogy Vincent Kompany is in trouble after a heavy landing. Always a concern when he goes down - but he's just winded. He's OK. Panic over.

  6. Arsenal need a change?published at 16:05 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on BBC TV

It would have been an interesting team talk from Arsene Wenger at half-time. I can't remember Arsenal having so little of the ball in a match. This new system isn't allowing them to have as much possession as they would want.

  7. Postpublished at 46 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

City threaten to score before Arsenal can have a touch in the second half, an extended attack down the right ends with Jesus Navas looping a cross to the far post, Sergio Aguero tries to bring it down but he needs a perfect touch and only gets a decent one, and it runs away.

He did indeed. Almost impossible for the linesman to decide either way at full speed I reckon.

Here they come, second half on its way.

Nathan Mann: Clear pen on Sanchez, but if that was an attacker on a defender, ref would deffo give a free kick. Ridiculous inconsistency!

Cazzy4kimi: We can debate all day about goal line tech. The linesman did the best he could with his view. We have the benefit of hindsight!

It's not been a patch on yesterday's semi-final, that's for sure. This is your more typical semi-final affair. Settled by an error?

The difference in quality between this semi and yesterday's is huge. Easy to see why Chelsea and Spurs are so far clear of these two in the league.

  13. Was the ball over the line?published at 15:56 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Take a look at Manchester City's disallowed goal from earlier. Was it or was it not a goal?

Video technology sorts that out, 1-0 to City. Linesman should never give a decision that he isn't 100% about, and he couldn't be, cos it wasn't out! Feeling robbed right now.

Will we get through a weekend without calling for video technology? There is an inevitability about it if you ask me.

Moeez Ali: The ball may have been (marginally) in, but how is the linesman meant to spot 5% of the ball being in at full speed?

Joshua Dagnall: I can't believe the linesman robbed City of that goal. If technology was in play, the ref could review that..

Arsenal had just one shot in that half, but it was on target and it did make Claudio Bravo make a save.

City had seven attempts, presumably not counting the two which led to their disallowed 'goal' after the ball was adjudged to go out of play.

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

It has not been the most exciting semi-final I have seen. Arsenal have made it difficult for Manchester City, trying to play on the counter-attack but without runners and pace.

I think Arsene Wenger will be the happier of the two managers.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

Both sets of players are in the ears of referee Craig Pawson as the half-time whistle goes. That was getting close to boiling point as we edged toward the break.
