We are not going to be talking about brilliant football.

We are talking about an organised, disciplined Swansea. Liverpool have been lacking in ideas.

Coutinho has been too deep, Firmino can't get into the game and Jordan Henderson has to tighten his passing up.

A lot of plusses for Swansea but Liverpool can do better.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 45+2 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Swansea

A frustrating first half for the home side but a satisfying one for the visitors. The white wall has a few blast marks on it, but no cracks yet.

  5. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Swansea

Huge groans of frustration fill Anfield as a floated pass to Nathaniel Clyne - who is in a race bit of space down the right - allows the ball to slip under his boot and out for a goal-kick. Jurgen Klopp's head lowers yet further into his snood.

Coutinho is playing far too deep and Firmino far too narrow.

Swansea will be absolutely delighted with this.

Paul Clement has set them up to counter attack and they are working hard.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes for one of the Swansea players to come off the pace and for Clement to be lining subs up to keep this up.

    Liverpool 0-0 Swansea

Another Liverpool half-chance comes and goes. Adam Lallana's inswinging cross from the left is glanced high and wide of goal by the head of Roberto Firmino.

  8. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Swansea

Dejan Lovren strikes from long-range following a long period of pressure from the home side. As you'd expect from the centre-back, the effort goes tamely wide. This is what the home side have been reduced to. Jurgen Klopp looks thoroughly fed up in the dugout. He hasn't left his seat since kick-off.

Jibin Mathew George: With Coutinho back, Firmino is finally looking lively again after a dreary couple of weeks.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 37 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Swansea

How to win friends at your new club: Martin Olsson picks up the ball on the edge of his own box and glides past a series of challenges before being fouled near halfway. The perpetrator of the foul, Ragnar Klavan, goes into the book.

Kuni Poonasamy: Can been poor last 5 games, I'd pick Lucas + allow Henderson to play forward. Shooting practice for midfield

Johnny Magrinho: Henderson misplacing every other pass & thwarting all our attacks. Needs to get his head in the game and fast!

Liverpool are excellent to watch but sometimes this football that Klopp plays is very narrow and easy to defend.

  13. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Swansea

Liverpool show strength and speed to break open the Swansea defence as Philippe Coutinho nips in, holds off a challenge and sets up Roberto Firmino, but his shot is blocked by Alfie Mawson.

That's what the home side need to do. For much of this half they've not moved the ball quickly enough to disrupt a Swansea side that are here for a point.

Henderson put in a great cross earlier - from which Liverpool should have scored - but out of 20 passes, he must have given 17 away.

    Liverpool 0-0 Swansea

The packed Swansea defence is doing a sterling job. Lukasz Fabianski has had little to do so far. Roberto Firmino tries to get his head on a cross from the left but he is out-muscled by Alfie Mawson and fails to connect.

I think Paul Clement will be pleased with how his Swansea side have started.

They look well drilled and well organised. They are working hard with a bit of confidence about them.

Liverpool have to up the tempo if they want this first goal. They are playing too slow in front of Swansea.

Coutinho is class. He plays James Milner in down the left with a pin-point pass through a host of Swansea players with the outside of the boot. Unfortunately for the home side, the full-back's pull-back from the byline is cut out.

It is turning into a good game.

It is end to end. In the last five minutes Swansea are coming out and looking dangerous on the break.

  20. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Swansea

Swansea's first attack and it produces the closest we have come to a goal yet. Tom Carroll - newly-installed in the Swans midfield - finds space in the box to drive an angled-shot that deflects slightly off Dejan Lovren and strikes the base of the post before going behind.
