  1. The story of the fourth round - 70 place, 7 goalspublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    FA Cup 2016-17

    What a match this was.

Seventy places in the English football pyramid separated Tottenham and Wycombe and they shared seven goals in their fourth-round match.

Paul Hayes had put League Two Chairboys 2-0 up at half-time but the Premier League side levelled after the break.

Garry Thompson thought he had won it for Wycombe in the 83rd minute, but up popped Dele Alli with another equaliser, before Son Heung-min bagged the winner.

    Pure FA Cup drama.

  3. Will this be Wenger's last match?published at 14:20 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Arsenal v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

The question on everyone's (okay, some people's) lips this season: Will Arsene Wenger stay or go?

"I don't know," is the answer from the horse's mouth.

Wenger's Arsenal contract runs out this summer and there's been a strong wave of 'Wenger Out' campaigners who have made his professional life pretty testing.

Missing out on a top four place in the Premier League will be a huge blow for the Frenchman, but perhaps another FA Cup in the cabinet will change everything?

"I want to win the cup for my club and that's all I care about," said Wenger, who has been at Arsenal for 21 years.

"Would it be a nice farewell? No, what I want is to win the next game. It's not about me, it's about us winning the trophy and giving everything to achieve it."

Not sure if this sign is correct - but I did just step on and off the Wembley pitch, so maybe the magic will work on me?

There is still more than three hours to go before kick-off and this green rectangle of grass in north London is a hive of activity - various TV production crews setting up around it, and groundstaff adding the finishing touches to the surface itself - including the all-important pitch markings.

  7. The story of the third round - Changes afootpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    FA Cup 2016-17

The so-called 'magic' of the FA Cup seemed to be lost on some of the Premier League teams who entered the third round this season.

Bournemouth made 11 changes to their squad for their game with Millwall and went on to lose 3-0, while Liverpool needed a replay to get past League Two Plymouth, having fielded their youngest-ever team in their first tie.

West Brom and Stoke, meanwhile, both went out to lower-ranked teams.

Some questioned whether the Premier League teams really valued the Cup. Others basked in the glory of the giant-killings.

  9. The road to Wembley - third roundpublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Arsenal v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

As always, the Premier League teams entered the FA Cup in the third round.

Arsenal started their campaign against Preston and were given a scare by the Championship club when they took the lead through Callum Robinson.

Robinson then had a goal disallowed before Aaron Ramsey equalised and Olivier Giroud pounced in the 89th minute to send the Gunners through.

Chelsea, meanwhile, enjoyed a routine 4-1 victory over League One side Peterborough United.

However, it was a game to forget for captain John Terry. He was sent off on his first start in three months.

"He has to bring in somebody closer to him or bring players in who can cope with the pressure. Not playing in the Champions League next season will have a huge impact on them."

This season, Westfields became the first club in six years to make it all the way from the Extra Preliminary Round to the first round proper.

The Midland Football League Premier Division side played seven FA Cup ties - one more than the eventual winners will have actually competed in, and the club’s eventual tally of 25 goals is the highest total scored in the competition this season.

Their run came to an end after a replay against Curzon Ashton, who progressed to the second round.

I think Alexis Sanchez is tailor made for a pitch like this. He has that great athleticism, he is an opportunist, he is full of confidence and he is a defender's nightmare.

You cannot give him a moment's space. He really is a match winner for Arsenal.
