Chelsea are struggling - making too many sloppy touches and sloppy passes.

Alexis Sanchez is an absolutely brilliant footballer and if he does leave Arsenal, I can't think of one club who wouldn't want to take him....

  2. CLOSE!published at 16 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea

Cleared off the line! My word, a huge chance for Mesut Ozil.

He comes in on the right and side-foots the ball, almost scuffing it, on target before Gary Cahill makes the goal-saving clearance with a flick.

Chelsea look all over the shop.

  3. Chances at both ends....published at 15 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea

Danny Welbeck races on to an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain punt forward, and eventually the ball drops to Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean has a go from distance and it's a thunderbolt of a strike which dips and clears the bar.

Now Chelsea break forward but Arsenal's defence, which was certainly questioned before the match, snuff out the danger from Diego Costa, blocking a good strike from 14 yards.

  5. 'Chelsea need to wake up'published at 17:47 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder on BBC One

Chelsea need to wake up a little bit - they have not got out of the blocks yet.

Conte is trying to get them to press and get up the pitch and I don't blame him.

Sachez and Ozil have started really well - granted we are only 12 minutes in but they have been impressive.

  6. Chelsea's sense of injusticepublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

Chelsea's fans around us are - not surprisingly given their allegiance - nursing a serious sense of injustice over that Arsenal goal. The protests from Chelsea's players were two-fold, one for handball against Alexis Sanchez and two they felt Aaron Ramsey made a move to play the ball.

Either way, this is now some atmosphere inside Wembley.

    Good question.....

Tom Wright: According to the new rule, isn't Ramsey offside because he's affecting Courtois's ability to see/save the ball? He's in the way

Richard Reviews: Ramsey looked to be interfering with me. He effectively is feinting to shoot to stop courtious closing in.

    Or was it for handball?

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is trying to break into the box, but Blues midfielder N'Golo Kante is badgering him for possession.

  9. 'Arsenal are gaining confidence'published at 17:44 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea

Just before the goal, Chelsea had a great opportunity to break away but they messed it up and suddenly they are a goal down. They have not started brilliantly - given the ball away a few times but they will settle. They won't panic.

Arsenal are gaining confidence though. Suddenly you go a goal up and everyone wants the ball.

Aaron Ramsey picks up an early yellow card for Arsenal, in this breathless first 10 minutes.

Chelsea look a little rattled. They can't settle into their usually slick style of play.

Unbelievable scenes in the FA Cup final.

Very rarely do you see players argue it was not offside and then the referee Anthony Taylor subsequently overturn the assistant's decision.

Aaron Ramsey makes a movement towards the ball but does not make contact. If he is interfering with play, he is offside.

Once he makes the movement, Chelsea players stop. They should not, they should play on, but the goal is given.

What was the conversation between referee and assistant?

A poor start from Chelsea - they looked really lethargic there.

The Chelsea players are arguing but there is nothing to dispute. Maybe they are calling for handball but it's certainly not offside.

GOAL - Arsenal 1-0 Chelseapublished at 5 mins

    Alexis Sanchez

    It's been given!

Confusion reigns. It's hard to work out whether there were calls for offside or whether it came down to an alleged handball in the build-up.

Either way, it's been given and Arsenal take an early lead.

Aaron Ramsey was undoubtedly in an offside position when Sanchez worked the ball into the box but the Wales international made it quite clear that he was not active and Sanchez burst into the area and slotted home with a precise finish into the bottom corner.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is hanging around the back and manages to clear away a Chelsea cross into the box early doors.

Arsenal play the ball around the midfield, building up momentum, but they're finding it hard to break through a blockade of Blue shirts.

Arsenal's big player will be Danny Welbeck - I am a big fan of his. He will be imperative today if Arsenal find themselves under the cosh.

For Chelsea, Eden Hazard is an unbelievable talent - along side N'Golo Kante he is the player of the season for me.

There will now be a minute's silence held at Wembley to remember the victims of the Manchester bombing on Monday night.

The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, along with Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham and FA chairman Greg Clarke, lays wreaths on the side of the pitch as a tribute.
