  1. 'Chelsea are clear favourites'published at 17:25 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Arsenal v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

    Match of the Day commentator

'Three is a magic number' could be an apt choice of dressing room music for both teams before they take to the hallowed turf, with three at the back proving a magic system.

Chelsea made their fabled switch from a four after being thrashed 3-0 at Arsenal in September. You know the rest, and we all know their three for the final: Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Gary Cahill.

Almost 20 years since he'd previously done it, Arsene Wenger fielded a three at Middlesbrough in April.

Arsenal have won eight of nine games since (losing at Spurs), but the absences of Laurent Koscielny, Gabriel and quite possibly Shkodran Mustafi too makes their defensive line-up far less clear.

Chelsea are clear favourites, but as FA Cup history has regularly shown - favourites don't always win finals.

It's been a great year for the FA Cup and it certainly still has the magic. You can see that in the atmosphere here today.

The teams head out of the tunnel.

Manager Antonio Conte goes out ahead of Gary Cahill for Chelsea and the lesser-spotted Per Mertesacker captains Arsenal, and leads the team behind Arsene Wenger.

Ozil is world class on the ball and his finish is also world class but he is a luxury for Arsenal.

If you want to win the league, then you have to give more off the ball.

  7. 'Ozil hasn't done enough against the big teams'published at 17:20 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Arsenal v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

    Ian Wright
Former Arsenal & England striker on BBC One

I like Mesut Ozil. His energy and his drive can destroy teams like Stoke and Sunderland. But he hasn't done enough against the big teams. When Arsenal are not playing well, people judge him by his reaction. I think when you've got world-class players around him, he looks a much better player. I know what he can create.

We said the game might be going to extra-time - sadly for Aberdeen fans that isn't the case. Celtic struck a 92nd-winner to complete a memorable treble.

  10. 'Chelsea are secure'published at 17:17 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Arsenal v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

    Ruud Gullit
Former Chelsea manager on BBC One

I think Chelsea will win 2-1. Chelsea are secure of themselves because they have won something. Arsenal, it's a difficult season for them. Chelsea have talked about the dangers of complacency. But this will be the icing on the cake if they win this match.

Conte has a good team and they are all professionals. Be aware that some players can get easy-going. David Luiz is like that. But Conte is on the team all the time to make sure that doesn't happen. If you win, it's OK. If not, it can irritate players. We saw that with Jose Mourinho and Eden Hazard.

The players are warming up with vigor on the Wembley pitch.

They're going to have to 'manage the weather' today, if that's actually a thing. It's mighty warm at Wembley - 22 degrees at the moment.

(Don't laugh, that's balmy for this country)

  13. Wenger makes the big callspublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made a couple of huge calls for this FA Cup final - and in positions that Chelsea are likely to probe ruthlessly.

The selection of central defender Per Mertesacker has been forced on him by the suspension of Laurent Koscielny and injuries to Gabriel and Shkrodran Mustafi but David Ospina ahead of Petr Cech in goal is all Wenger's own work.

Cech is Arsenal's first choice and most reliable keeper who played in the semi-final win against Manchester City here, so to pick Ospina carries a high element of risk for Wenger, who has so much riding on this game.

Mertesacker has played just 37 minutes this season - and now has to face the likes of Diego Costa and Eden Hazard. Daunting.

  14. 'I think Wenger will stay'published at 17:08 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Arsenal v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

    Ian Wright
Former Arsenal & England striker on BBC One

I think Arsene Wenger has done enough in 20 years to be treated with more respect then he's getting at the moment. I think he'll stay because I don't think he'll want to leave Arsenal out of the top four and maybe without a trophy.

He believes this team could win the league. That doesn't say to me that he wants to leave.

  16. 'I believe 99% of the Arsenal fans are fantastic'published at 17:04 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Arsenal v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, speaking to BBC One: You work hard to get here and you want just to win the competition for the club and the team. I would be very happy if we do it.

We lost three centre-backs in one week. last night we lost Kieran Gibbs who had to go home sick so the decision was not so difficult because we don't have many defenders left.

I believe that 99% of the Arsenal fans are fantastic people and you want to play for them.

  18. 'He came down on it with an iron fist'published at 17:01 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Arsenal v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

    Frank Lampard
Former Chelsea & England midfielder on BBC One

Antonio Conte took on a team in a bad place and there were a few individuals who had their worst seasons in Chelsea shirts and he fixed it.

Mid-season there were rumours that Eden Hazard was being a bit difficult on the training field but Conte dealt with it immediately. He came down on it with an iron fist and then he put an arm around him and that has brought the best out in him.

With the older players, you just want honesty from the manager and that is what has happened with John Terry - he laid it on the line early with John and that has really helped with his season.

  19. 'Kante has inspired Hazard'published at 16:59 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Arsenal v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC One

I've never seen anyone cover as much grass in a 90-minute game as N'Golo Kante. There's no denying Eden Hazard's ability but it's no coincidence he's had his best goalscoring season with Kante in the team. Kante snuffs out moves from the opposition. He's so good at it. That means Hazard doesn't have to track back. There's not as much responsibility on Hazard, so he can concentrate on doing his job up front.

  20. 'I'm here to win'published at 16:57 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Arsenal v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, speaking to BBC One: "I think in this type of game, it's difficult to tell if there is a favourite. Arsenal will be motivated but we have worked very hard this week and also in the mentality that we must keep great concentration.

"It's very important to keep the right concentration because when you win the league in this way, it is possible you can become relaxed. But we have tried to work very well.

"I'm excited and nervous. It's my first final in England and I'm enjoying this. But also I have great concentration, because I'm here to win."
