"It's a great achievement for all of us. To do it twice on penalties is amazing.

"You see every day how hard we work, every player give 100% and I think it's shown through the season we deserve this.

Most of the headlines will be saved for Huddersfield joy, but spare a thought for Reading's players and fans.

That's seven failed play-off campaigns, and four play-off finals, that they have now lost.

Former Reading captain, and now BBC Radio Berkshire presenter, Ady Williams was on the pitch when they lost to Bolton in 1995, and you can hear in his voice just how gutted he is.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner lifts the trophy, to a cheer as big as that for the initial lift, and he gets on the rails and does a little dance for us all. Lovely.

What a remarkable job the former Borussia Dortmund coach has done in West Yorkshire.

Who in England had heard of him before he was appointed - apart from Jurgen Klopp...?

I've just seen Huddersfield captain Tommy Smith on crutches making his way up the Wembley steps to celebrate with his family, they were in tears, he was in tears.

It just shows how much this means to them.

Huddersfield chairman Dean Hoyle is on the big screen at Wembley, realises it, then gives the Terriers fans a big wave and fist pump.

It always means so much to win a match of this magnitude, but it is written all over his face.

    Steve McClaren

I've been in the Championship and got experience of it, and let me tell you something, money doesn't count.

In the Premier League, you'll generally finish where your budget takes you. In the Championship, you can overcome that budget.

They've brought players from abroad, they've had good loan signings. You can have all the talent you want, you can have superstars or whatever, but it's all about the team.

That togetherness, that spirit, that fight for each other has taken them all the way.

Such contrasting emotions out there on the Wembley turf.

The game of inches. Liam Moore so close to putting his Reading side within touching distance of the Premier League, but snatched away by the width of a crossbar.

Huddersfield kept their cool when it mattered and they held their nerve in the shape of Christopher Schindler to get through in this shoot-out.

I think that's just about right if I'm honest with you.

I don't think at any stage you could have made a case for Reading winning it.

I think for 10, 15 minutes at the start though, you could have made a case for Huddersfield winning it.

What a moment for Huddersfield Town. They will be playing in the top flight of English football for the first time since 1972 next season.

Terriers chairman Dean Hoyle looks absolutely wiped with all of that, but the players and management staff are on the pitch absolutely ecstatic.
