Serbia are seeing more of the ball now, looking for Aleksandar Mitrovic at every occasion but so far the big Newcastle man is getting no change out of James Chester and Ashley Williams.

Above you can see the average position of Wales' players so far. The Joes of Allen and Ledley are dropping deep - back six anyone?

One of Antonio Conte's many wise decisions last year - bombing out the formerly superb Branislav Ivanovic. He started the season in a back four with John Terry, and ended it in Russia.

Much like this stadium, Branislav Ivanovic is starting to show signs of rust and old age.

The 33-year-old former Chelsea defender has looked slow and uncertain in possession so far.

How Gareth Bale must wish he was able to play tonight.

Foul?! No! Chris Gunter gets on his bike down the right wing, gets there first and chops inside Jagos Vukovic and goes down. Nothing given though.

Wales on top as Vukovic then panics and makes a poor clearing header.

    Pressure - works both ways.

Here we go. Set-pieces could be vital when you're lacking in punch up front, and Wales have a free-kick on the left wing. Aaron Ramsey to swing it in...

Overhit. Poor. Like a Harry Kane corner in the Euros.

My summary of the Wales performance so far: Excellent, solid as a rock and composed in possession, but with zero goal threat.

Wales with 54% of possession in these early stages, knocking it about nicely.

The Wales fans are in good voice, making themselves heard in an intimidating atmosphere. Chris Coleman's side face their first spell of Serbia pressure but they are so well organised they absorb it with ease, Joe Allen making a key intervention on the edge of his own area.

Joe Ledley's corner is a good one and Dave Edwards attacks it but heads wide! He has a think about a penalty appeal but I think he actually headed that into the arm of team-mate Ashley Williams.

    Good start.

Every Wales touch is jeered from the rafters, but they are having plenty of early touches. Aaron Ramsey needs to be the key man and he's on the ball a lot here - winning an early corner.

Ex-Celtic and Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

I have to say, I've played all around the world, but that Serbian national anthem, the noise level was incredible.

Wales had a fantastic summer at the Euros but these are the kind of atmospheres you need to play in to get results. There's no reason why Wales can't get a good result here.

Dave Edwards whips in a teasing cross from the left but Vlad Stojkovic is off his line with authority to take it in the Serbian goal.

A lot riding on Aaron Ramsey's shoulders tonight and he looks pumped up as Wales get us up and running.

The Serb anthem is electric though. Superb atmosphere in Belgrade. Both sides are unbeaten. Someone's 0 has got to go!

    Unless it's a draw.

Wales, in their black and grey away kit tonight, are loud and proud at anthem time, as you'd expect. A big, big game for them tonight.

How are your nerves Wales fans?

Here they come! Flags fluttering, the banked stands of the Stadion Rajko Mitic full and loud. Looks a brilliant occasion. Wales hope for many more.
