Manchester United ending the half on top. Can they find a way back into the game before the whistle?

Jose Mourinho retreated into his dugout for a bit after that Hull goal.

This evening has not gone to script for the Manchester United manager and he needs to work out why.

Hull's supporters have been slow getting into the game. But they are right behind their team now.

Nobody seems too convinced that that was a penalty but it is just what this tie needed. Can Hull City complete the comeback? Wayne Rooney is out warming up for the visitors.

That's the dodgiest "penalty" I've ever seen. There's soft and then there's that.

Jose Mourinho sits back in his seat, scarf pulled up over his face. Unmoved. However he will not, he cannot, be happy with that penalty award.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 37 mins

Hull 1-0 Manchester United (Agg: 1-2)

Hull are buoyant now. They push men forwards - but it almost costs them!

A loose pass in midfield frees Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he curls one into the far corner but David Marshall makes a cracking one-handed save!

I don't think there's an awful lot in it. I think he gives it for Jones' foul.

Huddlestone strikes it ever so well. De Gea guesses right. It's a soft penalty but a great strike. From our point of view it's great, game on!

GOAL - Hull 1-0 Manchester United (Agg: 1-2)published at 35 mins

    Tom Huddlestone (Pen)

A man who doesn't score many, in fact he once nearly ended up looking like Tom Hanks in Castaway after vowing not to cut his hair until he did, but a man of impeccable technique. And Tom Huddlestone buries the penalty, low and into the corner.

    The semi-final is on!

  12. PENALTY TO HULLpublished at 34 mins

Hull 0-0 Manchester United (Agg: 0-2)

Interesting! Very interesting. Harry Maguire ends up in a heap from a corner, as does Oumar Niasse, and the referee gives a penalty! Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones are in close vicinity. There didn't appear much contact...

Manchester United have stemmed the flow of Hull's attacks with a lengthy spell of possession. Zlatan Ibrahimovic looks in a touch of pain after Michael Dawson trod on his foot but he'll run it off.

Ryan Mason's picture was on the electronic scoreboards at both ends of the KCOM as the Hull fans carried out their minute's applause when Oumar Niasse's shot was saved by David de Gea.

It would have been an amazing coincidence had it gone in.

Hull 0-0 Manchester United (Agg: 0-2)

A total mismatch as Marcus Rashford takes it past David Meyler with ease, so fast, but credit to the wily emergency right-back for getting back and making a covering tackle.

  18. Postpublished at 27 mins

Hull 0-0 Manchester United (Agg: 0-2)

Hull on top. Shaun Maloney fizzes a free-kick over the wall but also over the bar. If the Tigers can get one then we could be in for an interesting night...

What a touch Dawson takes. He is onside, an incredible touch and then Niasse has a good strike saved.

In the last 10 minutes Hull have looked fairly bright. I'm not sure how much Manchester United are playing within themselves.

  20. CLOSE!published at 26 mins

Hull 0-0 Manchester United (Agg: 0-2)

A shot on target! A set-piece is not dealt with, Michael Dawson brings the ball down brilliantly and though his effort is blocked by Chris Smalling, Oumar Niasse lashes in a shot which David de Gea punches clear!
