Swansea lifted themselves off the bottom of the Premier League table and dealt a huge blow to Liverpool's title hopes with a thrilling win at Anfield on Saturday.

Gylfi Sigurdsson scored from close range with 16 minutes left to give Paul Clement his first win as Swans boss and the club their first away league victory over the Reds.

Roberto Firmino had struck twice to draw the hosts level after Fernando Llorente's two goals in four minutes after the break.

Mistakes featured heavily in Manchester City's 2-2 draw with Tottenham as Spurs' fightback masked some terrible errors by Hugo Lloris.

The France international first headed an attempted clearance straight at Leroy Sane four minutes after half-time to allow the City attacker a simple finish, then dropped Raheem Sterling's routine cross straight at Kevin De Bruyne's feet five minutes later.

Without a doubt that challenge on Raheem Sterling was a penalty and it should’ve been a red card too. Kyle Walker made no attempt to win the ball and the referee should’ve called it back for a penalty.

I don’t want to encourage cheating or diving but I do want to see referees keeping up with the game and getting decisions correct.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he does not understand why his side were denied a late penalty in their 2-2 draw with Tottenham.

Spurs defender Kyle Walker admitted after the game that he pushed Raheem Sterling in the box with the score at 2-1, but referee Andre Marriner let play continue.

Guardiola said: "We missed a lot of chances and when that happens the influence of the referee is higher. But the rules here are the rules."

Steve Bruce has been my favourite person the last couple of days.

Firstly because of this picture of him, external in a kebab shop in full Aston Villa training gear, and secondly because of the revelation, external he made about why Ross McCormack missed training recently.

His gate was broken and he couldn't leave his house.

    Wow.

That's up there with the dog ate my homework.

There's only one person on the back of the majority of today's newspapers - Wayne Rooney.

He scored his 250th Manchester United goal to earn a 1-1 draw at Stoke and become the club's all-time leading scorer.

United are 11 points behind leaders Chelsea and would need a monumental run between now and the end of the season to win the title.

Their city rivals are also going to need something special to finish top of the pile this season. They let slip a 2-0 lead against Tottenham to draw 2-2, while Liverpool suffered a surprise 3-1 defeat by Swansea at Anfield.

    Good morning!

It's a chilly one out there today, but we've got three tasty fixtures coming up that might just warm you up.

Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City all dropped points yesterday - more on that shortly - meaning Chelsea have the chance to strengthen their grip on first place in the Premier League when they host Hull later.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are also in action. They host Burnley knowing a win will move them up to second and put them right back in the mix.

And, to kick off, the day's football, the defending champions Leicester are in action as they travel to Southampton.

    Day. Sorted.

    Poor old Pep.

Life winning titles at Barcelona and Bayern Munich must feel like a very long time ago after he endured another frustrating day in the Premier League.

Yesterday, his Manchester City side threw everything at Tottenham - including the kitchen sink - yet failed to get the win. A familiar outcome for Pep and his players.

It leaves his hopes of leading City to the title hanging by a thread. A thread that could be snapped if Chelsea and Arsenal pick up wins today...
