    Swansea v Southampton (19:45 GMT)

On my last two visits to the Liberty Stadium for Match of the Day - the post-Christmas defeats to West Ham and Bournemouth - it was hard to find anyone who thought the Swans were going to escape relegation.

That viewpoint has almost certainly changed following the magnificent victory at Liverpool.

Swansea haven't played since then, while Southampton have had three matches, including their own terrific triumph over Jurgen Klopp's side in the League Cup.

Southampton were outstanding when I saw them defeat Leicester in their last Premier League match. If they play to the same standard, Swansea will do well to prevent the Saints from taking all three points.

    Sunderland v Tottenham (19:45 GMT)

In times of trouble there's a tendency to come back to what you know, and David Moyes has embraced that by further strengthening the Everton connection on Wearside.

That may help in future games, but for this he must rely on there being a big game rally, as against Liverpool at the start of the month - Sunderland's only bright spot of a dismal January.

They'll also need the crowd behind them and so must be positive from the off, which could bring its own counter-punching problems.

After being critical of his undercard against Wycombe, Mauricio Pochettino won't expect anything other than a win for his returning Spurs big hitters.

Middlesbrough v West Brom (19:45 GMT)

    Alistair Mann

In the pack of clubs immediately above the drop zone, Middlesbrough's recent form of five league games without a win is genuine cause for concern.

It's easy to identify one of the main reasons for their recent difficulties, having failed to score in five of their last eight matches, a statistic which has maintained their unwanted position as the division's lowest scorers.

Eighth-placed West Brom will arrive with few of the anxieties inhibiting their hosts.

Tony Pulis' greater concern of late has concerned his quest for new signings. He is resigned to dealing only in the loan market and expects to conclude any transfer business before Tuesday's kick-off.

Sometimes the importance of a match is overhyped, but for Liverpool you can't play anything down for this one.

As they finish a January to forget, they face a 'now or never' moment, even with much of the season remaining. This could be the fixture for them to re-start their engine.

That said, Chelsea seem to be purring along.

However, they will be aware they will face a different and sterner test at Anfield, where they haven't won since 2014.

If they inflict more misery on Liverpool, you feel the title will be theirs to lose.

    Burnley v Leicester (19:45 GMT)

It's worth remembering that this is a 'Battle Of The Champions': The reigning Championship and Premier League winners.

Those achievements were always going to be difficult to follow.

Leicester's title defence has been underwhelming to say the least but needs to be put in context; this time last year Chelsea, as reigning champions, had only four more points on the board than Claudio Ranieiri's team do now.

The Foxes have won each of their last four visits to Turf Moor, but Burnley's home form has been excellent this season.

In fact, if the Premier League table was only judged on home form, Burnley would be in the top four.

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace (19:45 GMT)

    Steve Wilson
    Match of the Day commentator

A glance at the Premier League table would suggest there are at last six teams bad enough to be relegated from the top flight this season.

On current form Palace are the worst of the lot, with only one point from their last seven games.

The change of manager has not yet done much to halt a lengthy run of ineptitude stretching back to the start of 2016 - a 13-month spell in which Palace have won only six league games out of 42, losing 27 times.

Bournemouth are keeping their head above water, but it's far from being an effortless glide through still waters.

Eddie Howe is right to be concerned about a defence which has conceded three goals on no fewer than eight occasions in just 11 matches.

    Arsenal v Watford (19:45 GMT)

    Jonathan Pearce
    Match of the Day commentator

Going by FA Cup form, this should be a comfortable sixth successive home league win for Arsenal.

They haven't conceded from open play in their last seven top-flight matches at the Emirates and Watford will need to be much improved to threaten.

Watford's new signings M'Baye Niang and Mauro Zarate can sparkle on their day but are they the right sort of player to untangle the Hornets from a relegation web?

They're in peril. Seven games without a league win. No midweek Premier victory since April 2007. Too many team changes.

Don't forget there is a bonus Match of the Day on the box (and right here online) later on. So that means our MOTD commentators are sat up in the gantry at seven Premier League grounds, notes in front of them, cuppa in one hand, mic in t'other.

Let's hear what they've got to say...

Sam Allardyce has a fantastic record, but teams are down there for a reason.

You can’t just walk in overnight and change things easily. Ultimately, the players are down there because they’re not quite good enough.

Sam Allardyce is still searching for his first win as Crystal Palace boss. He has failed to win any of his opening five league matches in charge of a club for the first time in 20 years, not long before the above picture was taken.

It took him 16 games to earn a victory at Notts County in 1997. He can't afford to wait that long this time if he is to keep Palace in the Premier League.

    Liverpool v Chelsea (20:00 GMT)

    • Liverpool have only won one of their last eight matches (D3, L4) in all competitions, losing their last three in a row
    • They have lost three consecutive competitive games at Anfield for the first time since October 2012, having previously been undefeated at home this season
    • Chelsea have won 15 of their last 16 league games, with their only defeat coming away to Tottenham
    • The Blues have kept 13 clean sheets in the Premier League this season - no team in Europe's top five leagues has kept more

Emre Can has been a bit erratic of late and I feel for him. When he plays in a two beside Jordan Henderson he goes wondering and lacks a bit of discipline.

He’s not playing well, and inevitably when you’re not playing well at a big club you’re going to get a bit of stick.

But I understand why Jurgen Klopp has gone for three in the middle against Chelsea, they don't want to go too attacking against such a good side.

The big news as far as Liverpool are concerned is that Sadio Mane starts from the bench after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations. Jurgen Klopp makes nine changes to the side that lost to Wolves on Saturday in the FA Cup - midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum and forward Roberto Firmino are the only survivors.

Liverpool XI: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Matip, Milner, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Can, Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino. Subs: Karius, Klavan, Moreno, Lucas, Mane, Origi, Sturridge.

Chelsea also make nine changes from the side that started against Brentford in the FA Cup. The two survivors are defender Cesar Azpilicueta and forward Willian.

Chelsea XI: Courtois, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill, Moses, Kante, Matic, Alonso, Willian, Costa, Hazard. Subs: Begovic, Fabregas, Zouma, Pedro, Batshuayi, Terry, Chalobah.

    Arsenal v Watford (19:45 GMT)

When you’re struggling down at the bottom you need to have continuity. Watford have had no continuity with players or managers.

They may get away with it this season because there are teams down there who are worse than them, but they won’t get away with it again next season.

    Sunderland v Tottenham (19:45 GMT)

Four changes for Sunderland manager David Moyes from the 2-0 defeat at West Brom. Returning centre-back Lamine Kone replaces the suspended Papy Djilobodji, while left-back Javier Manquillo comes in for the now-departed Patrick van Aanholt.

Midfielder Didier Ndong and striker Fabio Borini also start, while ex-England centre-back Joleon Lescott makes do with a place on the bench. Fellow new boys Bryan Oviedo and Darron Gibson are ineligible.

Only three players remain from Tottenham's dramatic FA Cup win against Wycombe as Mauricio Pochettino recalls his big names.

One of those 'keeps' is enforced, keeper Michel Vorm staying in goal as Hugo Lloris is tucked up in bed (probably) because he is ill. Centre-back Eric Dier and forward Son Heung-min are the others to retain their places.
