    Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea

The camera pans on Sadio Mane, who is kicking his heels - literally - on the home bench. Funny how players become even better when they don't play. Like Gareth Barry when he missed most of the 2010 World Cup.

    Arsenal 0-2 Watford

Theo Walcott is stripped and ready as he goes through some warm ups with the Arsenal coach during the break. Looks like the forward is coming on.

    Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea

A few audible signs of Liverpool frustration when Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino fail to sing from the same hymn-sheet in the Chelsea box.

The Premier League leaders quickly turn defence into attack, Willian blazing into the Anfield Road stand from about 30 yards. Ambitious.

Ross in Hampton: I'm a lifelong Arsenal fan and I have to say the performance so far is no surpise at all, this current Arsenal team do not have the mentality to win the Premiership. And I will happily say that to Mr Wenger's face.

    Burnley 0-0 Leicester

I didn't think any clubs would do any transfer business while they were playing tonight, but Burnley have done just that. The Clarets have completed the signing of Robbie Brady from Norwich for a club-record fee.

    Swansea 1-0 Southampton

Swansea end the half well, Gylfi Sigurdsson's shot parried over the bar by Fraser Forster.

The home side grew into that half and certainly threatened goal more than their visitors. They are on their way to first back-to-back league wins of the season.

    Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea

Moment of concern for Chelsea as David Luiz goes down with a knock. John Terry is told to go and warm up as the Brazil centre-back gets a good soaking with the magic sponge. Chelsea briefly down to 10 men before Luiz jogs back on.

Brilliant free-kick from David Luiz but a moment of real embarrassment for Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet - who was not even ready as the ball landed in the net behind him.

Jurgen Klopp is frantic on the touchline and the game suddenly has a chaotic air. Liverpool had all the early possession but it's Chelsea with the lead.

    Sunderland 0-0 Tottenham

Not much to tell you from that first half. Spurs had plenty of the ball but only had one shot at goal. Harry Kane has not a sniff.

Another Albion set-piece, another Boro inquest. West Brom defender Craig Dawson heads goalwards, Boro keeper Victor Valdes clawing away low to his left.

Chelsea sticking their foot on the gas now. Simon Mignolet has to be alert to another Chelsea free-kick - and this time he is. The ball is swung in from close to the left touchline, David Luiz stretching out his right toes in a bid to turn in the ball. If only he was one boot size bigger...

    Arsenal 0-2 Watford

Theo Walcott is warming up for Arsenal. I would be utterly amazed if he doesn't come on at the start of the second half. Arsenal have offered nowt in attack.

Arsenal fans, best to expunge this half of football from your memory.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:28 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2017

    Middlesbrough 1-1 West Brom

Middlesbrough almost in front. Adama Traore charges away down the right and aims a cross to the back post for Cristhian Stuani - a cross that Allan Nyom hooks towards his own goal and has his blushes spared by a diving save from Ben Foster.

Boro are the better side now.

    Burnley 0-0 Leicester

The heavy rain and heavy pitch is making it difficult for both sides to play much football but Burnley look the most likely to score as Joey Barton's first-time effort from the edge of the box deflects onto the roof of the net.
