This is the first chance I've had to see Gabriel Jesus play and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do. He's just 19 but looks confident as he strolls out onto the pitch with his team-mates. With the creative and attacking talent just behind him, the youngster should get a hat full of opportunities.

Jake Crolla: Pep could be using Stones and Kolarovs height to nullify Llorente's aerial threat.

Corey Gibbs: Pep got rid of young strong Mangala & replaced him with an ageing LB Kolarov as a makeshift CB. Makes no sense to me.

Simon Boendermaker: How Guardiola justifies not having a Makelele type midfielder to screen such a poor defence is beyond me

Fayaz Adam: Pep's formation shows that attack is the best form of defence for City right now.

Liz Tray: We've been better since abandoning 3 at the back. Now PG goes back just to accommodate Ferna? Not his best idea against in-form Swans

The last two games, the forwards played really well and scored lots of goals, so I decide to continue with them.

Getting unexpectedly asked to referee a junior football game this morning meant I arrived at the Etihad Stadium slightly later than normal.

Media park in the car park at the City Football Academy, just opposite the main stadium.

As luck would have it, I got there just as Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City players were about to make the 400-yard journey to the main entrance ahead of their Premier League encounter with Swansea.

Wonder what Sergio Aguero was thinking as he made the trip?

It started with replica shirts and bobble hats.

Then we moved onto half-and-half scarves.

Now, by looking at this fan, it seems we have moved up to club plasters. Yes, plasters!

Pep Guardiola has made 80 changes to his starting line-up this season, 15 more than any other Premier League manager. Today he also appears to have gone for three at the back and a five-man attack. Bold.

I have been really impressed with Paul Clement.

The players have responded well. It didn’t work out at Derby but I think that makes him a better manager.

Gylfi Sigurdsson could walk into most sides in the top six and he is getting a song out of Llorente.

  13. Clement to keep up good run?published at 12:47 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2017

Man City v Swansea (13:30 GMT)

    Steve Wilson
    Match of the Day commentator

A few weeks ago, checking out Swansea's heaviest ever Premier League defeat was an essential task for whichever MOTD commentator was assigned to their next game.

Under Bob Bradley they were lucky that record was only equalled when they lost 5-0 at Spurs - you suspect it could have been shattered had they played at Manchester City.

But Paul Clement has already made such an impact that, incredibly, half of their Premier League wins this season have been accrued under his care - and he's only been in charge for four games.

Getting something at City still looks a long shot, especially the way Pep Guardiola's men went about their oft-repeated task of ripping West Ham to shreds on Wednesday.

But a Swansea thumping is not inevitable - and that's progress.

Adam Stewart: The hyping up of Gabriel Jesus is truly ridiculous. He had an average goal ratio in Brazil and has only played 2 games.

Aguero will still have a big role to play.

They needed someone to take the pressure off Aguero.

It is not happening today but I think we will see Aguero and Jesus playing together.

City needed someone to take the weight off Aguero’s shoulders.

Gabriel Jesus could be one of the best.

He is so explosive. That front three of him, Sane and Sterling, it has an amazing amount of pace.

Any defence coming up against them three plus Aguero will be fearing them.

Can Swansea pull off a shock at Manchester City? It's a long, long time since they beat them on their turf and Lawro isn't optimistic about their chances.

Lawro predicts: "Swansea have seen an upturn in results since Paul Clement took charge but Manchester City have also improved dramatically of late.

"A big part of that is the fact all of City's attacking players are in really good form and I don't think Swansea can keep them out. Prediction: 3-0."
