  1. RED CARD (Oliveira)published at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2017

    Rotherham 1-0 Norwich

A goal down against the Championship's bottom side and now a man down with around 70 minutes still left to play. Not looking good for Alex Neil's side right now.

It seems as if Nelson Oliveira lashed out at someone in the Rotherham box and he gets his marching orders. BBC Radio Norfolk's Rob Butler has labelled it "brainless". Oliveira was one of the few bright sparks for Norwich in recent weeks. What will they do without him?

Reaction has been trickling in from the day's early EFL game, which Cardiff City won against Bristol City in the Severnside derby.

Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson: "I've got full belief in the squad. I feel we will turn it around. But words are cheap.

"The players have to look at themselves. I have to look at myself. We'll keep working hard together to come through this.

"There's no one hurting more than me. We work very hard every day. We stick together."

    Amadou BakayokoImage source, Rex Features

Played three, scored three. That's Amadou Bakayoko's record for Walsall against league leaders Sheffield United this season.

Every time he's scored, they've won against the Blades too. Perhaps his early opener will be another lucky charm? Maybe not, Jack O'Connell has already equalised.

Meanwhile, there's been a goal every three minutes at Bury, where Tom Nicholls' opener for Peterborough has already been cancelled out after six minutes by James Vaughan.

  5. goal

GOAL: Preston 1-0 Brightonpublished at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2017

    Paul Huntington

    Hello potential upset!

After Shane Duffy had headed off target from a free-kick at the other end, Preston centre-back Paul Huntington makes no mistake in a similar way at the other.

Paul Gallagher's right-wing free-kick finds Huntington, who heads home at the near post. The Championship leaders are stunned.

Brighton come close to opening the scoring at Deepdale, but Shane Duffy can only head Anthony Knockaert's free-kick over the bar.

Duffy is always dangerous from set-pieces. Simon Grayson will want to snap that out.

    Brentford 0-0 Newcastle

Newcastle United are in west London today, and counter attack from a Brentford corner, but Dwight Gayle's effort is held by Dan Bentley.

I like Dan Bentley. Always looked good when he was at Southend and now he's doing the business in the Championship.

Paul Warne was made Rotherham manager until the end of the season earlier this week and now his side lead against Norwich City.

Tom Adeyemi's great delivery into the box gives Jerry Yates a goal from six yards out. A huge start for the Championship's bottom side.

A couple of early chances Brighton which has livened up the crowd after great work by Bruno and Anthony Knockaert down the right, but the Seagulls cannot find the net.

Before all of our games in the EFL today a minute's applause will be held to remember former England, Watford and Aston Villa manager Graham Taylor, who died this week, aged 72.

The EFL has also given clubs the option of letting their players wear black armbands during this weekend's fixtures.

Having seen all the tributes paid to him this week, football has lost one of its genuine nice guys.
