Everything seems to be clicking for Spurs and it certainly helps they are up against a Stoke side who are just totally off the pace.

Jared Maobe:  At such levels, it will be a mountain for a team like Tottenham to keep Harry Kane. Madrid will soon come knocking. 

Niall:  Certain other England strikers could take on the attitude and application of Kane.

Stoke are a shambles. Spurs have been brilliant.

Stoke's afternoon goes from bad to worse as hat-trick hero Harry Kane turns provider to lay it on a plate for Dele Alli to finish from inside the six-yard area. This is terrific by Spurs.

What a response from Spurs after limping out of Europe. Tottenham have destroyed Stoke and we're not at the end of the first half. Mark Hughes is sat in the dugout and looks mortified.

It takes a huge deflection but I think that will still go down as a Harry Kane goal.

Astonishing...a 23 minute hat-trick for Harry Kane!

Spurs win a free-kick just outside the Stoke area and Christian Eriksen taps the ball to Kane whose effort deflects off Peter Crouch and beats a hapless Lee Grant.

Charlie Adam, who is on a yellow, catches Dele Alli again. Jonathan Moss keeps his cards in his pocket this time. Stoke are all over the place.

Harry Kane has scored one with his right foot and another with his left. What's the chances he scores with a header before the end of this? The man is on fire.

I have to say, that right there is why strikers get paid all the money. 

That was special. There are only a select number of players who can do that on his weaker side and he is one of them. 

What a finish from Harry Kane. The Spurs striker is on a hat-trick after beating Lee Grant with an exquisite low finish moments after the Stoke keeper's finger-tips had denied Kyle Walker's long range attempt.

Huge cheers as Charlie Adam is booked for clattering into Dele Alli. Adam is not happy to see a yellow card thrust in his direction.

Where is Stoke's defence?

Jan Vertonghen rattles the bar from 12 yards with a thumping effort after being left unmarked before Harry Kane misses by inches with a curling attempt.

Spurs are banging on the door for a second.

That tackle didn't have the force that would warrant a red card so the yellow was the right decision from Jonathan Moss. 

He has read the game well there. Too many refs just go thorough the guidebook in their mind and just say, "high - tick, two foot - tick - that's a red" but Moss saw there was no power in that tackle and only deserved a yellow. 

That's good refereeing in my opinion.  

Hello Stoke...we've been expecting you.

It's been one way traffic but Stoke almost equalise with their first serious attack as Peter Crouch - who is in an off-side position - is denied by the leg of Hugo Lloris following Erik Pieters' cross.

There was no flag. An excellent save by Lloris to deny the former Spurs striker.
