  1. Game over?published at 22:38 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2017

I started this live text with a rallying cry. I wanted the neutral fan to believe there was hope of a tight title race.

So, do I concede it's all over or keep the message of belief in the chasing pack up.

I want to do the latter but I'm folding like a pack of cards. It looks done and dusted.

Chelsea were steady, calm, efficient and just generally good. West Ham will be crossing balls in their sleep, asking few questions in the process.

If you've just joined us, take a look at the match report here.  I will love you and leave you, my apologies for the pathetic rallying cry.

Thanks for all your tweets and texts, sleep well.

Some standout stats from tonight's game:

    • Chelsea are the seventh side to accrue 66+ points from their first 27 games of a Premier League season, having done it themselves twice before (69 in 05-06 and 68 in 04-05). All six previous sides have gone on to win the title.
    • Chelsea have enjoyed 118 Premier League London derby wins, more than any other side - one more than Arsenal.
  3. 'Chelsea's title'published at 22:29 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2017

    West Ham 1-2 Chelsea

Slaven Bilic on Chelsea's title chance: "There is still a long way to go. They look serious, for me they are not going to lose that. I can't see them being casual."

  4. Manager reactionpublished at 22:28 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2017

    West Ham 1-2 Chelsea

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic talks to BBC Sport: "They deserved to beat us. It's very simple. If you want to beat Chelsea then you have to hope for their mistakes and use them. If it's the other way around and you make mistakes, they use them straight away and it's very hard. I'm disappointed.

"We were on top. We started well and created problems down the left but didn't have enough bodies in the box. Then we made a cheap mistake in a position where you can't lose the ball.

"After that I am happy with the first half. Second half again, a cheap goal. To be fair, all of their counter attacks looked dangerous."

  5. Manager reactionpublished at 22:25 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2017

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte tells Sky Sports: "I think we played a good game. We controlled the game. It's a pity for the goal we conceded at the end.

"To give away a clean sheet at the end is not good. We must improve in this situation. But I'm pleased. We showed great concentration and commitment and will to win.

"N'Golo Kante has great stamina. He covered a lot of the ground. He's improving a lot.

"We must continue. It's important to rest really well and prepare for the FA Cup game against Manchester United."

What else can we say about Chelsea's success?

It's evidently built on a solid base but they have been opportunistic this season too. They've scored the opening goal of the game 21 times this season in the Premier League, that's four more times than any other side.

So opponents are normally facing an uphill task. Chelsea then have something to build from and as we saw tonight, when they are defending, they can break with deadly speed.

    It's all going their way.

  10. The title 'as soon as possible'published at 22:11 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2017

    West Ham 1-2 Chelsea

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard on Sky Sports: “It’s easier for me to play more inside now and link up. Last season I was more out wide and there I am sometimes alone, against two guys.

"Antonio Conte is a great character and he helps us a lot.

"We want to win the trophy as soon as possible and bring it back to Stamford Bridge.”

A happy man. That's 10 games without defeat and a 10-point lead at the summit. He's made Chelsea stiff, ruthless, almost ignorant to the challenge of other.

Jeff Hervel:  I mean really?!?! What was the point of that West Ham goal? All it did was wipe 5 points off of my fantasy total! I'm livid!

Alan:  Very annoying goal - I've got Cahill and Courtois in my Fantasy team.

Some very irritated members of the BBC Sport team tonight for similar reasons, Alan... not me though as I have Lanzini. If I could do a smiling emoji on this keyboard, I would.

    West Ham 1-2 Chelsea

    Too little, too late.

I can't help but think Andre Ayew should have been out there earlier. Chelsea played in third gear, some of their players could have played with a pipe and slippers. Just not enough on offer from the home side.
