    Tottenham 1-0 Southampton

Oriol Romeu tries his luck from distance, but his effort flies wide. That's as close as Saints have come so far.

Manolo Gabbiadini is trying to link up and bring the Southampton midfield into play, but looks a little isolated at the minute.

Mousa Dembele struts around the pitch with a nonchalant swagger, but can explode into life in a split second.

He's enjoying a great season, as is Christian Eriksen, and it only took one quick move between the two Spurs midfielders to bring what had been a fairly evenly matched game to life there.

That is an excellent goal. Fantastic play.

    Great strike from Christian Eriksen.

The Dane needed only half a yard to collect Mousa Dembele's pass outside the box, turn and rifle that one low into the corner.

Southampton aren't going to sit back and let Tottenham dictate. It is clear they are going to press whenever possible.

They are also tidy in possession, each player taking one or two touches.

    Ouchy.

Eric Dier goes diving in on Southampton winger Nathan Redmond and finds himself in the book.

Tactical foul? He's on thin ice for the remaining 80 minutes of this one, but can't have too many complaints.

    Tottenham 0-0 Southampton

First sign of life from the visitors as Manolo Gabbiadini looks to spring the Spurs offside trap.

The Italian forward moves a moment too soon to collect Dusan Tadic's pass and is flagged offside.

He'll have to wait to join the Micky Quinn/Diego Costa club...

    Tottenham 0-0 Southampton

Claude Puel will be fuming, the one thing you can do without at White Hart Lane is giving the ball away easily.

His players will have enough running to do today, but under no pressure whatsoever keeper Fraser Forster shanks one straight into touch.

Saying that, moments later Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris does almost exactly the same.

    Tottenham 0-0 Southampton

Good start from Spurs in the sunshine at the Lane.

Southampton, a little uncharacteristically, have given it away almost every time they've touched the ball so far.

    Tottenham 0-0 Southampton

Spurs, looking to close the gap at the top of the Premier League back to 10 points on Chelsea, get hold of the ball early on and it's Dele Alli trying to link with Son Heung-min, although that comes to nothing.

Be some handshake if those two combined for a goal...

But Southampton give it away, and Son gets in behind. He fires a right footed half volley, but Fraser Forster palms it over.

A quick reminder of today's teams at the Lane for you then, as Mauricio Pochettino goes with Son Heung-min up top in place of the injured Harry Kane - hands up if you popped the South Korean in your fantasy side this week.

It's as you were for Southampton, who stick with the same side for the fourth successive game.

Spurs: Lloris, Walker, Dier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies, Wanyama, Dembele, Alli, Eriksen, Son.

Saints: Forster, Soares, Stephens, Yoshida, Bertrand, Romeu, Davis, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Redmond, Gabbiadini.

    Middlesbrough 1-3 Manchester United

    Manchester United

Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard: “We had a lot of pace up front today and obviously we had the ball players in midfield to dictate the play. All round it was a good game for us."

On his goal, Lingard said: “I was looking for the pass, there weren’t any options so I took it on myself and luckily it went in."

Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini: “It is always a pleasure to score. It was a great cross in from Ash. It was a good goal. The game was tough. They pushed and played long balls and are physical. We did it. We did well.”

  17. Saints' scoring runpublished at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2017

    Tottenham v Southampton (14:15 GMT)

Southampton are enjoying a fruitful run of their own, scoring four times in their last two games.

The last time they managed to score four goals in three consecutive league games?

Well, that was back in December 1980; a run that also included a 4-4 draw against Spurs at White Hart Lane.

Much was made of Tottenham finishing third in what was labelled a "two-horse title race" last season, but Mauricio Pochettino's side have responded with one of the club's best ever runs this term.

Spurs have only once had a better overall record at this stage of a top-flight campaign, and that was in their double-winning season of 1960-61.

Much of that has been built on their home form in the Premier League, where they have conceded just seven goals in 14 matches at White Hart Lane.

Spurs have not remained unbeaten at home in the top-flight at this stage of the season since 1964-65, while a win today would make it 10 on the bounce in the league at the Lane.

Marouane Fellaini has just been asked on BT Sport what went on in the tunnel.

"I didn’t see. I don’t know, I was in the dressing room," he said.

OK, well that's cleared that one up...
