Southampton have found what looks like a gem of a goalscorer of their own in Manolo Gabbiadini.

If the Italian nets today, he will become the unlikely third party in a quiz question involving Micky Quinn and Diego Costa.

What's that? You ask... Well, they're the only players to score in each of their first four Premier League appearances - thank me later.

Saints striker Gabbiadini is in great form, scoring nine goals in his last seven games in all competitions - six in four for Southampton and three in three for previous club Napoli.

All eyes from a Tottenham perspective have been on how Mauricio Pochettino's side will cope without the injured Harry Kane.

The Spurs boss has tasked Son Heung-min with leading the line today, but how have his side got on without their top scorer this campaign?

Spurs have played 12 games in all competitions without the England forward – nine of which have come against top-flight opposition.

In those nine games, they have managed to score just eight goals and have won just three (W3 D4 L2).

    Right then, cheers Phil

There's 15 minutes until kick-off at White Hart Lane, so let's have a look at the build up to that one, as well as keeping across the reaction from the Riverside.

That is all from me. I shall leave you in the capable hands of Alex Bysouth for Tottenham v Southampton, followed by Manchester City v Liverpool.

More ugly scenes. It has just kicked off again in the tunnel. Michael Carrick was in the thick of it, but I can't accurately describe what started it or what went on.

There's a good chance we may hear more about this.

This game will be remembered for two things - Lingard's goal and Valdes' error. One was magnificent, the other horrible.

United are up to fifth. Boro remain locked in the bottom three. They can at least take some positives from an improved display.

This is academic. A final change for United sees Matteo Darmian on for Marcus Rashford. He won't have time for a touch.

I feel really sorry for Valdes.

It is the easiest goal Valencia will ever score. United have been let off the hook.

Victor, Victor, Victor, what have you done?!

Boro keeper Valdes moves to one side to receive a backpass and try to kick clear as Antonio Valencia charges in but at the vital moment the keeper slips and leaves the ball and an open net for Valencia to slot it into.

A nightmare moment for the keeper, against his former club. Game over.

I'll tell you what has gone on - Rudy Gestede and Eric Bailly have got very aggressive with each other. The Boro forward put his face right into the defender's neck.

The ref is in there and calms everything down.

United are clinging on. Rudy Gestede nods on a long throw but Alvaro Negredo can't make proper contact in the box to send a shot goalwards.

Great tackle Phil Jones! He has saved his side there. Alvaro Negredo looks to have muscled into a shooting chance in the box but the sliding United defender denies him.

David de Gea has a small injury. He is grimacing with every kick he has to make. Not what United want to see. Not at all.

Since scoring the second goal, United have offered almost nothing in attack. The Rojo for Mata substitution was a clear 'we keep what we have' move. All it has done is invite pressure. It could yet cost United more.

Michael Carrick goes down following a challenge with Marten de Roon. It gives United a free-kick to relieve pressure. Not sure it was a United free-kick, though. Seemed a fair 50/50 challenge. Ref has done the visitors a favour there.
