Neither side able to really get a grip on the midfield at the minute, but neither defence has really been troubled either since the goal.

    Pretty even at the Lane.

    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

The tempo of this one has just slowed a little as Spurs look to stem the Southampton tide following the goal.

No one seems to be able to keep hold of the ball.

Christian Eriksen is far too casual in possession and Oriol Romeu sneaks in to pick his pocket, before losing out to Jan Vertonghen himself.

Ryan Bertrand and Nathan Redmond look to combine down the left for Southampton, but Kyle Walker just gets a toe in to stop that move progressing.

Spurs shift it left and then flight a diagonal ball to Son Heung-min, he throws a step-over and shifts it onto his left foot before seeing his shot blocked.

Oriol Romeu brings down Victor Wanyama, then Christian Eriksen brings down the Southampton man and eventually a free kick is awarded to the visitors.

The game is getting really stretched because Southampton are intent on getting this equaliser.

I have been really impressed with Southampton, the goal has really given them confidence to build on.

    Another booking for Tottenham.

Victor Wanyama chases Dusan Tadic but ends up with a fistful of the Southampton midfielder's shirt as he sprints across the half-way line.

And that, says Mr Marriner, is a yellow card offence.

Mousa Dembele manages to squirm his way through several Southampton feet - the Belgian's got his magnetic boots on again.

He slips it to Dele Alli, who takes a tumble under pressure and can't keep hold of the ball on the edge of the Southampton box.

Half an hour to go in this one.

For the neutral that goal has really livened things up.

Spurs were so supreme in the first half.

Southampton are looking to capitalise on this bit of momentum, they're trying to pick Shane Long out in behind quite a high Spurs line.

Tottenham need to settle, but the ball isn't sticking up top with Son Heung-min like it often does with Harry Kane in the side.

    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

Tottenham nearly went down the other end to reassert their advantage immediately, but when the ball broke to Son Heung-min in the box he couldn't hit the target.

Southampton have a spring in their step, while White Hart Lane is suddenly sounding a little edgy.

That was out of nothing. It was poor defending at the back post. Two defenders missed the ball.

Ward-Prowse sorted his feet out really well there.

That is a wake-up call for Tottenham.

Well Southampton are back in this one.

Spurs switch off and Ryan Bertrand skips down the left before delivering a tricky ball across the face of goal.

Tottenham fail to clear, and James Ward-Prowse is there to pounce for his third of the season.

Christian Eriksen has Spurs' first attempt of the second half, but he smashes a bouncing ball over Fraser Forster's crossbar.

Victor Wanyama then looks for Son Heung-min, but Maya Yoshida is first to the ball - he's kept the Spurs forward fairly quiet so far.

Victor Wanyama, so imperious in the first half, dallies on the ball and Southampton pinch it in a promising position.

The former Saints midfielder gets away with that one though, as Cedric Soares fails to bring down a pass.

Wanyama has a thick strip of tape across the back of his neck. I guess it's to ease a muscle strain, but it looks more like one of those magic plasters the nurse would whack on to stop you moaning when you got a scrape at school.

Tottenham looking comfortable at the break? Maybe. Although Mauricio Pochettino will be asking for his side to finish this one off.

Since Manolo Gabbiadini went off injured, Southampton's main threat has come through Nathan Redmond on the left.

But Tottenham have done quite a good job of countering that, and with Kyle Walker bombing on more than Ben Davies, they have looked to exploit the space on the right flank.

This is a really top Tottenham team.

The crowd were purring. Spurs have been very professional. They've denied Southampton to just a glimmer of opportunities and Gabbiadini going off is a blow for them.

Without Kane, Spurs have hardly missed him. That is the biggest compliment you can give.

A good time to be a Spurs fan. Movement, quality, confidence, even a bit of swagger, and crucially of late, starting to not to feel like a one man team! Bravo Poch!
