Monaco 2-0 Manchester City (agg 5-5)

Manchester City won't be used to being pressed as much as Monaco are pressing them at the moment. The second a City player has the ball someone is on him as quick as a flash.

I'm struggling to remember when the visitors have managed to string more than a couple of passes together.

Fantastic flick by Bernando Silva bamboozles Manchester City before Thomas Lemar's shot is blocked.

Monaco just look a different class at the moment.

Atletico Madrid 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen (agg 4-2)

Atletico twice go within a whisker of killing this tie stone dead. Angel Correa latches on to a ball and has just Bernd Leno to beat but the Bayer keeper leaps to his left and tips the goalbound shot past the post.

A minute later, Leno is at it again to push aside Koke's shot.

Five minutes to go until the break.

Bacary Sagna hooks a Bernando Silva ball towards the box away but Monaco pick it up again. City really cannot afford to concede another before the break. Pep Guardiola will be desperate to get his players down the tunnel.

Monaco have two N'Golo Kante's tonight. Goalscorer Fabinho and Tiemoue Bakayoko, who is a man mountain.

The Monaco fans are bouncing at the moment. It's been the perfect performance by their side so far but a goal for Manchester City could change things dramatically.

The hosts have a free-kick right by the corner flag and Thomas Lemar whips it in but Willy Caballero gets two big fists to it to punch away.

Helles Mammut: Why would anyone consider Pep to be the world's best coach when he isn't able to teach his players basic defensive concepts.

Vieira151‏: And like that, City crumbled. Jardim either has world class forwards or he is the outstanding attacking coach in the world.

Andrew Kemp:  Monaco want the ball, City want to go home. Pathetic start from a Premier League top four team.

Manchester City have no option now, it's time to take risks and they threaten to snatch a goal as Sergio Aguero forces his way into the box but just as he is about to shoot Jemerson stabs the ball away from his feet.

Meanwhile it is still 0-0 in the second leg in Spain after 30 minutes.

Bayer have had a couple of half-chances but have also survived one big scare when Angel Correa's shot inside the box was blocked.

Still three goals needed by the German side.

I cannot believe that defending against from Manchester City, they were nowhere to be seen.

No City player was anywhere near Fabinho. John Stones came to the right and Bacary Sagna did not get back in the middle, but it was a brilliant finish from Fabinho.

The game has not chagned for City, they still HAVE to score and attack better.

City are in a big, big hole.

Benjamin Mendy. Manchester City cannot cope with him at the moment as the fullback again finds lots of space on the left and he crosses low into the middle of the area where the unmarked Fabinho slams home a first-time shot.

Manchester City now have to score, otherwise they are out.

Big test for Pep Guardiola tonight. His side are through to the quarter-finals as things stand, but surely Monaco will grab a second before the 90 minutes are up if the current pattern of play continues?

Manchester City's players are struggling to get beyond halfway. A brief foray in their opponents half ends with Raheem Sterling being flagged offside wide left.

Four shots on goal for Monaco so far, two off target. No shots on or off target yet for City.

Monaco switch play across the pitch before Bernando Silva launches the ball long to Valere Germain on the edge of the area. The Monaco forward nods it for Kylian Mbappe and Aleksander Kolarov takes no chances as he heads behind for a Monaco corner, which is cleared.

It's relentless pressure for City at the moment.

Kevin de Bruyne holds his hands out by his sides in despair as he tries to take the ball forward but has no-one to support him. Tiemoue Bakayoko takes advantage of De Bruyne's momentarily lapse in concentration to pinch the ball again but he can't create something with the Monaco attack.

City need to slow things down a bit and string a few passes together.

City have to stop losing the ball in midfield. They are taking too many risks in the back four and need to start playing the ball further up the field.
