Liverpool 1-2 Crystal Palace
Liverpool
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Match of the Day: "I have no idea how Crystal Palace are in the situation they are. We knew it was difficult. We were dominant, you cannot create 20 chances in a game like this, you have to work and that is what we did. We scored a fantastic goal and more interesting situations and then out of nothing let them score.
"After you could see their confidence grew and in the second half we were dominant. They had counter attack threat but again out of nothing we gave them an opportunity from a corner. The decisive one we missed the ball at the front post.
"It is frustrating, disappointing of course, everyone thinks the Champions League has slipped through our fingers but we have one more month to stay positive. We have to try everything to squeeze everything out of this season."
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce speaking to BBC Sport: "Some goals you can't stop and that one we couldn't stop. But the recovery from that is good. Out of possession we frustrated Liverpool today so much that they had little opportunity to have a clean shot on goal.
"Liverpool were only as good as we allowed them to be. They had a lot of possession as did Chelsea and Arsenal. We did more with our possession than Liverpool and that is why we won.
"We finished our analysis with how many goals Liverpool have conceded from corners. We showed that it might not be the first ball in but the second or third if we make runs in the right areas.
"It has been hard work but we are looking up. We have five games to go but Tottenham on Wednesday will come too early. We will have change the side to get fresh legs into the side. It is a big result today, it makes life so much easier."
Fair point...

Martin C: You say that the PL trophy might have blue ribbons next weekend..alternatively Spurs and Chelsea could be level on points
Palace had three shots on target, Liverpool had one. I'm not sure that you did dominate, Jurgen.
Liverpool 1-2 Crystal Palace
Liverpool
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Sky Sports: "I had to say a few words to the boys. I know what everyone is saying, that we have to win it, do this and that. Crystal Palace are a good side but we dominated the game, that was clear. We had very good moments. It is not easy to create chance and chance and chance.
“Today it was a defeat and makes sense for me to say a few words. We were not at our best. We tried everything - changing systems - but it didn’t work that well because we had a bit of nerves. There are games to play and we will be ready."
Liverpool 1-2 Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce speaking to Sky Sports: "I think the key was tactical. They have lost six goals on corners in the first and second phase. They use a zonal system and don't mark men. If you get on the move you may get a chance.
"It shows the character in the team and quality finishing of the team. If you ask Wayne Hennessey how busy he was you will realise how good we were.
"I think when you talk about possession Liverpool had a huge amount but chances on goal we were right up there with Liverpool and we were more clinical.
"I can breathe a little easier. 38 points has been very good in the last 10 years. We have five games to go so this one is so important. We have Tottenham on Wednesday and Burnley after that. It lifts the pressure on us. I am worried these lads can't reach this level when they don't have time to recover. I may have to make huge changes to make sure we compete with Tottenham."

Johnny Magrinho: Klopp needs to come out and say that wasn't good enough, we aren't good enough and he'll teach his team to defend. Embarrassing.
RegularJon: Loserpool! How can this joke of a club still be in the top 4?! Win by three at City and we go third!
Here's a thought - Palace host Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, a night after Chelsea host Southampton. The Premier League trophy could have blue ribbons on it by the of the week.
Liverpool don't play again until a week on Monday. They could be out of the top four by then.
Liverpool 1-2 Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend tells Sky Sports: "Travelling up yesterday we saw the other teams won and that put pressure on us. But we have made a habit of upsetting the big teams and have done it again thanks to the big man."
Asked if the win secures their survival: "Not yet. We have seen the other teams at the bottom are winning matches. We are almost there. Never say never but we can start looking up the table and seeing where we can finish."
Asked how Palace have turned results around: "Hard work on the training pitch day in day out. Confidence, winning gives belief. You saw that with Leicester last year."
