James O'Shannessey: Zlatan has been brilliant on and off the pitch for Utd this year, but Utd should heed the lessons of the Falcao experience.

I'm hearing rumours that Marcus Rashford is on the bench.

    Stand by for confirmation...

Marcus Rashford has been desperate to play through the middle. He has played second fiddle to Ibrahimovic.

Today will give him a great opportunity to prove he is the main man at Manchester United.

And, in a blow to fantasy football managers up and down the land, triple-captain candidate Zlatan Ibrahimovic (United play twice this week) is out for today, the rest of the season and maybe even for good.

Who takes his place up top?

Marcus Rashford? Will the youngster's workload have to be managed? Marouane Fellaini? The lesser-spotted Wayne Rooney?

Former Manchester United defender Phil Bardsley: A lot of players have gone away from Manchester United and have made a career. Michael Keane is being linked with lot of clubs but at minute he is at right club. He was under the radar because his brother Will Keane was meant to be the next big thing.

Matt Upson: "It is difficult to leave a club like Manchester United, it is easy to stay in the security of the club. It best thing for his development is to branch out and fair play to him for wanting to do that."

Kick-off at Turf Moor is in just over an hour, so the team news will be dropping in the next 15 minutes or so. Jose Mourinho is currently looking around the team coach to see if he's got 11 fit players. Nicky Butt has been told to bring his boots.

Central defence is where Jose's biggest problems lie. Lining up for Burnley will be former United man Michael Keane, who Mourinho would probably have been quite glad to have today.

  7. 'Deeney has a huge responsibility at Watford'published at 12:59 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

    MOTD2 Extra

Former West Ham defender Matt Upson: "I think the fans find it difficult to identify with the team at Watford because they have such a high turnover of players. Deeney has a huge responsibility at Watford.

Shaun Custis: "You can't hope to identify with anybody there - the manager, the players, the owners.

"It is better for the supporters to identify with players rather than have a player in just for the season and then he is sold. You can't hope to develop the club long term, eventually it will go wrong."

    Watford

On the subject of Hull's win against Watford, a 2-0 defeat away to a team that played for more than an hour with 10 men moved Hornets captain Troy Deeney to some extraordinary post-match comments.

"Not good enough," said the skipper. "We just thought we could play some tiki-taka football against a team fighting for their lives.

"I'm not in the business of apologising, but it's a long journey for our fans and that wasn't good enough, which is why I went over to apologise."

If Deeney stands in the general election, I'll vote for him.

  9. 'We are capable of staying in the Premier League'published at 12:53 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

    Hull City

Hull captain Michael Dawson on MOTD2 Extra: "We have got a squad together capable of staying in the Premier League. Our home form is vital and the record since Christmas is second to none.

"He [Marco Silva] is a guy who is very thorough in everything he does. There is nothing left uncovered on the training ground. If you are not doing your job you will know about it.

"He makes big decisions and is a ruthless guy. Credit to him and hopefully we can keep doing what we are and be out of the bottom three come May."

  10. 'Swansea live to fight another day'published at 12:51 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

    MOTD2 Extra

The Sun's Shaun Custis: "The motivation must have been bigger for Swansea than Stoke yesterday. It was must win, they had to win it.

"They live to fight another day. Paul Clement really wants to prove himself as a manager. You could tell he was desperate top get back on track."

Now, as we've discussed, today's Premier League double-header doesn't only have European ramifications, but also consequences at the bottom of the table.

Yesterday, Swansea kept their hopes of beating the drop alive by soundly beating a travel-sick Stoke 2-0.

That would have been enough to drag the Swans out of the bottom three had 10-man Hull not dished out a 2-0 defeat of Watford.

  12. Win shows Chelsea's title pedigree - Shearerpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

"The way Chelsea beat Tottenham in Saturday's FA Cup semi-final showed why they are going to win the Premier League title too."

That was the view of former England captain Alan Shearer on Chelsea's FA Cup semi-final win.

  13. 'Tottenham are the best team to watch'published at 12:39 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

    MOTD2 Extra

Stoke defender Phil Bardsley: "Tottenham are the best team to watch on the eye. They have terrific young English talent. Dele Alli takes you into areas as a defender you don't want to go. I really like his late runs into box. He creates space.

Sun journalist Shaun Custis: "They are a very close knit group but if they lose one game it makes Spurs vulnerable. You see Christian Eriksen linked with Barcelona today."

Former England defender Matt Upson: "The only thing Spurs are short of is their wage structure. Compared to Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United it is on a different level. That is possibly one reason why players might not want to stay there."

Tom Newland: Tottenham were very good but Chelsea put in a fantastic performance and deserved it.

Rian Hoskins: What yesterday showed is Chelsea's squad depth is superior to Spurs even if the starting line-ups are very similar.

  15. 'A defender's nightmare'published at 12:32 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

    MOTD2 Extra

Discussing Chelsea's 4-2 FA Cup semi-final win at Wembley on Saturday....

Shaun Custis: "Chelsea answered some questions and maybe Spurs answered some. People asked 'are they the real deal?' Maybe they're not. It has been a bit of a hammer blow for Spurs."

Matt Upson: "One thing Conte has done in changing team the team yesterday is showing he has trust in his other players. Chelsea walk away knowing they have a manager who trusts the whole squad. He can leave players out and still get a result."

Phil Bardsley: "Leaving Hazard and Costa out shows the depth of Chelsea's squad. As a defender at 75 minutes seeing Hazard about to come on is the worst nightmare."

  16. Postpublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

And what about that FA Cup semi-final yesterday?

Chelsea moved to the final, but was their win over Spurs also a killer blow in the title race?

Leaving Hazard and Costa on the bench? Ballsy from Antonio Conte and ultimately pretty darn smart.

Will Liverpool hold on to their place in the top four? And could Burnley be sucked into the drop zone?

Harry Redknapp's impeccable timing means his first game in charge of Birmingham City is the second-city derby at Aston Villa. Goalless so far, you can follow that here.

North of the border, the Scottish Cup semi-final between Rangers and Celtic is already led by the men in green and white hoops. The action from that one is right here.
