Could, and maybe should, have been 1-0 to United. Anthony Martial and Ander Herrera combine on the left, with the ball eventually falling to Wayne Rooney on the edge of the six-yard box. He scuffs his shot when any sort of decent connection would have done for Tom Heaton, who instead dives to make the save. It also took a deflection off Ben Mee's, erm, backside.

United haven't been able to string passes together. Burnley are pressing well and getting in Man United's face. 

They have lacked a bit of quality in the final third but the signs are good for Burnley so far. 

Sun bathes almost all of the playing surface - only a narrow strip on the far side is covered in shadow. At the minute, a feature of the game is goalkeepers clearing their lines and players falling over. It's a battle.

Burnley pinch it on halfway and surge through the middle, but Andre Gray is robbed by Daley Blind on the edge of the United area. Bitty and disjointed so far. Excellent atmos, though.

Songs from the home fans inside Turf Moor. Even though the sun is out, Jose Mourinho is sporting the sort of grey coat you'd wear if going trekking up a hill in the rain. Andre Gray puts in a striker's tackle on Paul Pogba and gets a ticking off.

Burnley are a team unit and that's a great thing that Sean Dyche has introduced this season. 

United's problems lie at home so I think they'll fancy this today.

Burnley get us under way in the sunshine. They are attacking the goal to the right as we look on.

Line up, shake hands, break off to do the sort of loosening-up exercises that would injure a normal man. Assistant refs check the nets for holes. "Yep, plenty of holes. That's the point."

Players in the tunnel, United in a change strip of white. Marouane Fellaini is so far behind his team-mates that he's lining up with the Burnley players. David de Gea's hair is quiffed to within an inch of its life. There's a tub of Brylcreem on that do.

It's such bad luck for United. They're one of the most severe injuries you can get. Six months would be a good turnaround. I've had one myself and I know the hard work that you have to do. 

When you've worked all season to get to this point, not only is it disappointing for the manager and fans but for the players themselves. 

I hope it's not the last we've seen of Zlatan. He's really got involved and he's the main man - like Cantona used to be.

Sprinklers on at Turf Moor, members of the groundstaff running for cover. In one corner, a huge version of a Burnley shirt has been laid on the pitch. Ten minutes from kick-off, there are still plenty of empty seats.
