United put together a spell of possession, their first in what seems like a lifetime, but Marcus Rashford runs into a sky blue brick wall and City get the ball back.
Yaya Toure goes down under pressure from Ander Herrera as a corner comes in, but the Ivorian seemed very keen to go down. No penalty.
Ten minutes to half-time...City are dominating possession. But will they make the breakthrough before the interval?
Aleksandar Kolarov joins the Manchester City shots club and his effort from distance is touched around the near post by David de Gea. City have had 68% possession.
Six of City's seven shots in this half have been from Sergio Aguero.
It's nearly all Manchester City at the moment and Sergio Aguero wriggles free of the defenders just outside the box, sends Daley Blind and Eric Bailly crashing into each other, and then fires his shot well over.
It's been a while since United even had an attack.
Yaya Toure bursts forward from the halfway line and finds Sergio Aguero, whose 25-yard shot is held by a diving David de Gea. An aesthetically pleasing save.
City break forward and Kevin de Bruyne plays an ambitious pass forward which even Usain Bolt wouldn't reach. Even a leopard wouldn't reach it. And Leroy Sane isn't quicker than a leopard so he can't get onto it.
United make a hash of clearing the ball and Aleksandar Kolarov - who has been active down the left - pings in a cross which a stretching Sergio Aguero can't reach.
Pablo Zabaleta crosses the ball for Sergio Aguero, but his header goes wide. They haven't really had a good chance since he hit the post.
Kevin de Bruyne had an effort which was easily saved by David de Gea a couple of minutes ago. That was the first shot United had faced on target in the Premier League for 231 minutes.
We've just passed the halfway stage of the half and we've had two shots on target.
Bizarre keeping by Claudio Bravo to give United a chance, although he makes up for it. Anthony Martial's deflected cross isn't really causing much danger but Bravo claws at it and sends it to Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
However to his credit, he gets up and keeps out the Armenian's effort.
Marcus Rashford is really taking Nicolas Otamendi to the cleaners with some great skill and pace and Vincent Kompany has to step across to bail out his central defensive partner.
Pep Guardiola's backline just aren't quick enough to deal with Anthony Martial and Rashford.

Marcus Rashford has already left both Aleksandar Kolarov and Nicolas Otamendi trailing with his speed - the problem for Manchester United is their midfielders have yet to show the guile to pick him out with the right pass.
Brilliant run from Leroy Sane into the box but United defender Eric Bailly somehow extends his leg to take the ball off the German just as he was about to shoot.

United fans feel like City might have had a couple of bookings already.
Tushar Mahindrakar: I am in fear of that Ref... He is already killing this game.
babatunde sakiru: The referee officiating this match is "incompetent" poor performance from the official. Shambolic.
A United pass comes forward and it looks like it should be comfortable for Nicolas Otamendi but Marcus Rashford goes into top gear and almost wins the ball off the Argentine, who has to get it out for a corner. Slow, slow, slow from Otamendi.

It's a very scrappy game. There's not been a lot of quality out there so far.
Man United are not getting anything from their front three at the moment.
You can see it's getting frustrating for them.
A couple of journalists say United boss Jose Mourinho has been waving at City fans who have been giving him abuse. He loves it really.
Meanwhile, referee Martin Atkinson has called for a new ball as the current one was a bit flat. The game hasn't been too flat though.
