It might be party time at Stamford Bridge but John Terry is going to have to wait to get his hands on the Premier League trophy.

That presentation is planned for after Chelsea’s final match of the season, against Sunderland on Sunday.

Twelve months ago, Chelsea were embarrassed fallen champions, wondering exactly how they had limped to a lowest league finish in 20 years.

    Then Antonio Conte arrived.

But how exactly has the Italian transformed the Blues' fortunes? It all started out with dried fruit, seeds and nuts...

BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty goes behind the scenes to find out.

  3. 'Luiz is a warrior now'published at 19:43 British Summer Time 15 May 2017

    The Monday Night Club

    BBC Radio 5 live

Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam: In the past playing against David Luiz, you felt like he might give you an opportunity to score a goal but he's cut that out. Now he's a warrior.

Former Manchester United assistant manager Rene Meulensteen: "I think David Luiz has learned from his first spell at Chelsea. He looked like an accident waiting to happen before but that's gone out of his game. He's grown up."

But can Chelsea cope without their warrior tonight? He's been given the night off.

What do your team need to do this summer?

Olly Waterfall: Spurs - Actually make a sort of "superstar" signing... instead of players like Janssen and Sissoko... also keep Alderweireld

brozzyh: Coventry fan and we need new owners plain and simple. Then some decent investment.

Jan Holmes: Not going to happen, but the Allams have to sell up at Hull City. 100% improvement right there.

Strolling around Westminster on a Sunday evening, one would expect to see thousands of flashbulb-eyed tourists soaking up some of England's most historic sights.

One would not expect to see the Watford goalkeeper waiting on a kerbside. In his training gear...

Stuart: Watford should just do tonight what you used to be able to do on Fifa. Get enough players sent off (I think it was about 4 or 5) to lose by default 3-0. Probably their best bet.

  7. Postpublished at 19:33 British Summer Time 15 May 2017

Around half an hour to kick-off and there's a terrific atmosphere building inside Stamford Bridge. Chelsea fans have one thing on their mind tonight - to celebrate.

There's lots of activity on the pitch as both sets of players go through their routines.

The floodlights are getting brighter too as it gets darker by the minute.

Sam, Southampton: It's almost getting boring saying that Tottenham need to provide quality support for Kane. Oh, and a right-back.

Sam Everill: I'm a Stoke fan and we need to sack Hughes for the club to improve.

Alexander: Watford: New keeper, new first choice striker, Left full-back, first choice defender.

A fifth successive Watford defeat could all but confirm Walter Mazzarri's end-of-season exit.

It surely can't and won't be 'Arrivederci Antonio' too.

  10. Time running out for Mazzarri?published at 19:26 British Summer Time 15 May 2017

    Watford

Walter Mazzarri signed a three-year contract when he took over Watford last May but could the Italian be on his way at the end of the season?

The Hornets have beaten Manchester United, Everton and Arsenal but their Premier League status was only secured at the weekend.

They are on a horrible run of form of four straight defeats while Watford also went out of the FA Cup at League One Millwall.

#dantheman: Thank you Conte for the title.  But not thanks for making those changes and ruining my Fantasy football team.

Chris: And Conte's just cost me my fantasy football winners medal.. Costa triple captain and Pedro in midfield. Brilliant.

amazgel: Does Mr Conte not know I have Alonso and Costa in my fantasy football team?

  12. Title winnerpublished at 19:22 British Summer Time 15 May 2017

Watford have a title winner in their ranks.

Sadly for the Hornets, Steven Berghuis will not be making an appearance on the pitch at Stamford Bridge.

The Dutch winger has spent the season back in his homeland with Feyenoord and was part of their team which on Sunday clinched the Eredivisie title for the first time since 1999.

Only Cesar Azpilicueta and Eden Hazard remain from Friday's title-clinching starting XI.

Michy Batshuayi came off the bench to score the winner against West Brom. His reward? A starting berth.

John Terry is in there too, to lap up the glory.

Nordin Amrabat, Tom Cleverley and M'Baye Niang are switched into the Watford side, as they try to avoid continuing their end-of-season slump all the way until the final weekend.

That means striker and skipper Troy Deeney is benched.

  14. Resounding home win?published at 19:19 British Summer Time 15 May 2017

    Guy Mowbray
Match of the Day commentator at Stamford Bridge

Will Chelsea's homecoming party see a resounding home win? Or maybe one pinched by Watford - with one or two home players having a celebrations-induced off-day.

There's a precedent of sorts from Chelsea's title win two years ago but I'm still swayed towards outcome one.

At home, they'll feed off a jubilant crowd and can play free of the pressure of the past few weeks.

Headline act? Step forward Antonio Conte.

Fiifi Forson: Chelsea surely need another top striker, back-up wing-backs to challenge for Champions League and retain the Premier League. A solid crack on all fronts

Sana Hashimi: Man City need to keep Sergio Aguero at all costs. Jesus is good, but Aguero is world-class.

Harry Wilshaw-Rhead: Stoke - new manager + get rid of all the absolute trash throughout our squad.

How do you celebrate when you have scored the winning goal that secures your team the title?

In Michy Batshuayi's case you sweat it out at the gym.

There was no hangover in sight when the Belgian snapped himself getting back to work just hours after his Hawthorns heroics on Friday.

The man who scored the goal to clinch the title - Michy Batshuayi - gets his first Premier League start, having come off bench to score the winner at The Hawthorns. That will go down well.

  19. Terry gets his chancepublished at 19:07 British Summer Time 15 May 2017

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea captain John Terry is back to lead them out tonight for his first start since the FA Cup fifth round win at Wolverhampton Wanderers on 18 February.

This is one of only two more opportunities Terry will have to play for Chelsea in the Premier League  before he leaves the club.

There is a party atmosphere around Stamford Bridge despite the rain - although the trophy will not be presented until they play Sunderland here on  Sunday.

  20. Three changes for Watfordpublished at 19:05 British Summer Time 15 May 2017

Watford: Gomes, Mariappa, Prodl, Holebas, Janmaat, Behrami, Cleverley, Capoue, Amrabat, Doucoure, Niang.
