    England 5-0 Scotland

England force a late corner. Time for one more perhaps?

  2. Postpublished at 90+1 mins

    England 5-0 Scotland

Scotland create an opportunity through Erin Cuthbert (who has surely earned a starting place for their next game, by the way?) but, as she cuts it back inside the penalty area to Leanne Crichton, England defend it well and get the block in.

Christophe Talbotski: Luxury of having a striker who's just signed for Barca on bench and bringing her on at 4-0 something men's team can only dream of

  4. Postpublished at 89 mins

    England 5-0 Scotland

Scotland will just want the final whistle now, as soon as possible.

We're approaching the final minute of the 90.

Ex-Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Really good technique from Jordan Nobbs. You often see it smashed over the crossbar or spin out of play.

  6. goal

GOAL - England 5-0 Scotlandpublished at 87 mins

    Jordan Nobbs

When you're confident, those go in. Nonchalant, and as sweet as you like, Jordan Nobbs volleys in from close range with the outside of her foot.

It was Karen Carney with the initial shot, blocked by Scotland, which looped in to the air to Nobbs, and that - on a technical level - is a tasty finish.

She's deserved a goal. She's been superb in the midfield.

  7. Postpublished at 85 mins

    England 4-0 Scotland

Arsenal's Jordan Nobbs ambitiously tries her luck from around 40 yards, but she's too far out. Her effort bounces wide of the Scotland goal.

But, when you're 4-0 up... Why not?

Their team might have been outclassed, but full marks to the Scotland fans, who are still singing songs to my right. Some version of Do-Re-Mi from the Sound of Music, is currently doing the rounds.

  9. CLOSE!published at 83 mins

    England 4-0 Scotland

Jordan Nobbs sends over another dangerous free-kick for England. Jill Scott misses it, and it falls to Millie Bright at the far post instead... But her low strike from a very, very narrow angle fizzes across the face of goal and away. That was almost a fifth.

  10. Postpublished at 81 mins

    England 4-0 Scotland

As the game enters the final 10 minutes, England are in control.

Winger Karen Carney skips past a tired Scotland challenge and wins a free-kick in a dangerous position.

  11. Postpublished at 78 mins

    England 4-0 Scotland

Taking budgets, resources, and the Fifa Women's World Rankings into account, this scoreline is no embarrassment for Scotland.

England are fifth in the world for a reason, while the Scots are 21st, and making their major tournament debut.

They're also without some of the best players, including Arsenal star Kim Little.

But nevertheless, this is going to be tough to recover from. They'll need to dig deep this week in training before facing Portugal on Sunday.

  13. SUBSTITUTION (Scotland)published at 76 mins

    England 4-0 Scotland

Scotland - like England did a moment ago - make their third and final change.

Jo Love of Glasgow City comes on, in to the midfield, in place of Seattle Reign's Rachel Corsie.

  14. 'Scots chasing shadows'published at 76 mins

    England 4-0 Scotland

    Chris McLaughlin
    BBC Sport Scotland in Utrecht

England are really enjoying themselves now and Scotland are left chasing shadows time and time again. Erin Cuthbert has offered an out ball since coming on, but those in pink just can't get her in possession often enough or for long enough.

  15. SUBSTITUTION (England)published at 75 mins

    England 4-0 Scotland

Birmingham City striker Ellen White goes off, giving a happy Mark Sampson a high five as she exits.

On comes Chelsea's former Birmingham winger, Karen Carney, one of the most experienced players in the Lionesses squad.

  16. Postpublished at 74 mins

    England 4-0 Scotland

Jordan Nobbs - who's having a brilliant game in the England midfield - finds Lucy Bronze near the right-hand bye-line with a clever through ball, but Bronze's sliding cross is blocked.

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 71 mins

    England 4-0 Scotland

England almost have a fourth as right-back Lucy Bronze plays in Toni Duggan, in the penalty area, but Gemma Fay is out quickly to smother it and divert Duggan's effort wide for a corner.

The Lionesses go deep to the far post with the resulting delivery, but Millie Bright nods wide for a goal kick.

    England 4-0 Scotland

The last time England won their opening game at a major tournament was in the 2005 Euros.

Prior to tonight, they've gone six tournament-openers without a victory.

Only an act of God can deny them this time, surely, with just over 20 minutes to go...

  19. Postpublished at 66 mins

    England 4-0 Scotland

Scotland hit the side-netting through Lana Clelland, who beat Millie Bright for strength at the bye-line, but perhaps she should have squared it for Erin Cuthbert in the middle.

That's one of Scotland's best chances of the game.

  20. SUBSTITUTION (England)published at 65 mins

    England 4-0 Scotland

Now England take Chelsea's Fran Kirby off for a rest, bringing on Manchester City winger Nikita Parris instead.
