That's it from us for today. After 31 games and a historic, record-breaking three weeks for women's football in Europe, the tournament has come to a close.

It wasn't to be this year for Scotland or England in the end, but it's the Netherlands' time to shine in Enschede.

They are 4-2 winners over Denmark today, after a thrilling final.

So, for the first time since Norway in 1993, a country that isn't Germany has lifted the Women's European title.

Liverpool and the Netherlands winger Shanice van de Sanden tells Channel 4: "I'm so emotional. This is amazing. I'm so proud of all the people.

"This is the biggest thing that can happen for women's football in Holland."

Arsenal and the Netherlands striker Vivianne Miedema tells Channel 4: "It is unbelievable. It was so hard today because Denmark did so well.

"We changed the game and I'm so proud. I'm so happy that we did it."

Meanwhile, with five goals for the tournament, England and Arsenal striker Jodie Taylor is now confirmed as the winner of the coveted Golden Boot.

The fourth different winners of the Women's European Championships are the Netherlands!

Now the Netherlands collect their winners medals, one by one.

Any second now, joint-captains Sherida Spitse and Reading's Mandy van den Berg will have their hands on the trophy.

Denmark trudge up to collect their runners-up medals. Sport can be cruel at times.

But they did themselves proud in their first final.

Barcelona winger Lieke Martens is awarded the official Player of the Tournament award.

She holds the slightly smaller trophy aloft proudly.

A worthy winner, you have to say. It could arguably have gone to any one of four Dutch players, to be honest. But Martens has been superb on the left flank.

Tournament ambassador Pierre van Hooijdonk - formerly of Celtic and Nottingham Forest - walks on to the pitch with the silver trophy in his arms.

The attendance of 28,182 is another new record for a women's football match in the Netherlands.

They've all witnessed a terrific game and history for the host nation too.

On the pitch, the Netherlands players are dancing joyfully. They'll be picking up the trophy soon.

England will take some consolation from the fact that the only team to beat them at these Championships are the winners at these Championships.

Denmark sink to their knees. What an effort from them. They weren't even expected to escape from their group. They put up a great fight this afternoon.

The hosts go wild. There are tears of joy for Arsenal's Vivianne Miedema, whose two goals sealed victory. The Netherlands substitutes and staff all stream on to the pitch, as the crowd go wild.

These are memorable, memorable moments for the host nation.
