It's been an excellent start, it really has. It's easy to see why these two sides made the final.

If it stays as open as this, we could be in for a thriller.

Jackie Groenen's been one of the Netherlands' best players in this tournament, but she didn't need to do that, for me. Katrine Veje wasn't in a position to cause any threat to Groenen's team.

Former Chelsea midfielder Jackie Groenen is booked for a late challenge, sliding in on Denmark's Katrine Veje near the touchline.

Denmark captain Pernille Harder shows good skill to beat her marker and get in to the Netherlands penalty area, but her square ball in to the danger zone is cleared by the hosts.

It's an open game, that's for sure!

Good chance for the hosts, as Shanice van de Sanden's low cross from the right goes all the way through to Lieke Martens, about 12 yards out, but the Barcelona winger's low shot is saved. That was heading in to the bottom corner.

The Netherlands' holding midfielder Sherida Spitse tries her luck from range with a free-kick, but it's straight at the keeper.

It is very well-balanced. Denmark had been fairly cagey throughout the tournament, but they're playing extraordinarily.

And now the noise in Enschede is on another level!

Denmark come forward dangerously again but this time Pernille Harder shoots low and wide.

Chance for Denmark to take a shock lead!

A good passing move involving Katrine Veje and Pernille Harder leads to Sanne Troelsgaard being tripped in the box by Kika van Es.

No hesitation from the referee. It's a penalty.

New Barcelona winger Lieke Martens skips down the left towards the bye-line but the ball runs out of play for a Danish goal kick.

Any time a Dutch player gets the ball, the noise around the ground is deafening.

It was literally a party atmosphere in the build-up outside the ground. These guys are presumably off to find a screen to watch the game, asap.

Don't you just love national anthems? The Wilhemus is surely among the most emotive in Europe. The home fans - in the sellout crowd in Enschede - sing it out, loud and proud.

The players are now out, and here come the national anthems, starting with that of Denmark.

The closing ceremony has been taking place on the pitch in Enschede, and the cameras have spotted Louis van Gaal and Marco van Basten in the stands.

Now former Celtic and Nottingham Forest forward Pierre van Hooijdonk - who is an ambassador for these Euros - brings the trophy out on to the field.
