The Community Shield finished an hour or so ago with Arsenal beating Chelsea in a shootout at Wembley.

Record Chelsea signing Alvaro Morata - a late substitute - dragged a poor effort wide moments after goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois had blazed over in a first use of a new penalty shootout system.

Premier League champions Chelsea had gone ahead through Victor Moses, before Pedro was sent off for an ugly lunge on Mohamed Elneny. From the resulting free-kick, debutant Sead Kolasinac headed the Gunners level to take the match to penalties.

The shootout - the first in English football to follow the ABBA format - saw Chelsea miss back-to-back penalties to allow Olivier Giroud to win the match from the spot.

The vast majority of the crowd is a sea of orange shirts, but there is also a loud contingent from Denmark.

Quite a few thousand have made the journey down from Scandinavia.

The Dutch would not have expected to be put on the back foot so early in the game.

It has been so open, right from the very first minute. It's been a wonderful spectacle to watch so far.

Both these sides are in their first European final. Denmark had previously lost in five Euros semi-finals, while the Dutch reached the last four back in 2009.

The fans have sure been enjoying the entertainment in Enschede so far.

Among those watching on with slightly orange-tinted glasses are Louis van Gaal and Marco van Basten.

They'll be hoping to witness the Netherlands win their first ever major women's tournament this afternoon.

One of the best first halves I can remember for a very long time comes to an end. Off they go for a breather.

Denmark striker Nadia Nadim is booked for a challenge on Stephanie van der Gragt, as two minutes of added time are added on at the end of the first half.

The hosts' defender Anouk Dekker is booked for a foul on Pernille Harder around 10 yards outside the area, but the Denmark skipper fires over from the resultant free-kick.

Theresa Nielsen - scorer of the late headed goal that knocked out holders Germany in the quarter-finals - sends over a wicked cross from the right flank, aiming for the far post.

It beats Arsenal keeper Sari van Veenendaal, but it's just slightly too heavy for Nadia Nadim at the far post. That was close.

Denmark are just keeping possession in their own half for a brief spell, in probably the quietest moment of the half so far.

So far, it's the game of the tournament, without a shadow of a doubt.

Don't bet against more goals before half-time. Both teams are going for it.

Denmark go close to an equaliser but Nadia Nadim is denied by Sari van Veenendaal in the Netherlands goal. Nadim couldn't quite get there first, racing on to the ball in to the box.

It's still end-to-end stuff. Will this game ever settle down? From a neutral perspective, let's hope not.
