I think Welbeck should have got a shot away with his left foot. If he had let it run across his body in the left channel he could have gone for power. But he cut onto his right and it was telegraphed.
Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea
Things are opening up with opportunities at both ends of the pitch. Rob Holding does well to stab away a Willian cross before David Luiz slides in to prevent Danny Welbeck getting a shot off on goal.
Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea
Sead Kolasinac appears to be the sort of player that will get Arsenal fans on their feet. He's strong, quick and clearly likes to get forward as he drives towards the box, cuts back for Mohamed Elneny, whose shot-pass hits the feet of Alexandre Lacezette and the striker is flagged offside.
Why didn't Elneny shoot from 20 yards?
Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea
Good work by Thibaut Courtois as he reacts to a swirling Mohamed Elneny cross. The Arsenal man drills the ball in from the right and it bends towards goal, almost creeping in under the bar until Courtois intervenes.
Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea
The team that has scored first have gone on to win the game in each of the last four Community Shield matches.
A good sign for Chelsea, who have lost in their last three Shield appearances?
Both David Luiz and Gary Cahill appear to be OK and play gets back under way.
Here's the goal that broke the deadlock.
Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea
The sun is causing all sorts of problems as David Luiz and Gary Cahill fail to see each other as they jump for the ball and collide.
The referee stops play so the two players can receive treatment, Cahill clutching the back of his head and Luiz holding his nose.
Paul Harris: Be the better side, doze off defensively, go behind. Same old, same old.
Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea
Better response from Arsenal as Hector Bellerin's cross is headed away but only as far as Mohamed Elneny on the edge of the area. He has time to place his shot but struggles to get the ball under control and shoots over.
Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea
It's been a while... that was Victor Moses' first Chelsea goal in 27 games. His last one came against Spurs in November.
Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea
Arsenal are still all over the place.
Nobody picks up Cesc Fabregas from a short Chelsea corner and his cross across the face of goal catches Petr Cech off guard. He bats the ball at Michy Batshuayi but his header is straight back at the Arsenal keeper.
A let off, otherwise that would have been game over.

Moses times his run to perfection. He just gambles where the ball is going to bounce. He stays calm and composed and slots it past Petr Cech.

What a start to the second half!
Arsenal asleep at the restart as Granit Xhaka balloons a clearance from a corner high in the air, Gary Cahill flicks it back into the middle of the box where Victor Moses creeps through to drive in from close range.
Terrible defending by the Gunners.
Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea
We're back under way. No changes for either side.
Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea
The players are back out on the pitch. It's felt very much like a pre-season friendly so far. Will things liven up in the second half?

Was it or wasn't it? The Willian-Bellerin non-penalty decision is the big talking point so far.
Terry T: Replays literally show bellerin's shin clipped Willian's leg...penalty. Not blaming ref but you can't even see it with replays
Nabraxan Vyciferous: proof that not even video assistants will get it right
Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea
I'm in two minds now about that penalty shout. At the time, I was convinced it was a penalty but watching the replays at half time and I'm not so sure.
Hector Bellerin may have just brushed Willian with his knee and if he did it was possibly enough to knock the Chelsea winger off balance.
Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Who'd be a (Video Assistant) referee?
No VAR in action at Wembley today but the Willian diving/penalty incident sums up the sort of decision they may be called upon to decide. Every person I spoke to in the media room at Wembley had a different opinion.
Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea
Chelsea just edging the possession stats in that half but not many chances for either side - two for Arsenal and one for the Blues.
The problems for both teams has been service and the lack of it for their respective strikers. Alexandre Lacazette and Michy Batshuayi have had very little to work with.
