Sho Rhaman: Loving the United lineup. Jose preserving the lessons from last season and going way more attacking.

Gemma Kelly: I'll probably be eating my words at 5.45pm but I think West Ham have a very dangerous team this season and could cause upsets.

Javier Hernandez has played in the Premier League before and last time I think the league was too physical for him.

Perhaps he's toughened up after his time in the Bundesliga. He played in a decent side in Germany and perhaps he'll be able to handle himself better now.

West Ham haven't had the best of the last few transfer windows - regularly seeming to fail to nail down the "next-level" targets to which they aspire. Not this time around, though.

Pablo Zabaleta and Joe Hart bring the Premier League nous, Marko Arnautovic has bags of ability and Javier Hernandez has scored goals wherever he has been, including the venue of today's game.

James Reynolds: It will be interesting to see how Man Utd start - obviously it is very early doors but maybe it will be the Pep vs Mourinho battle we were promised last season?

Damian Prendergast: Rooney's move back to Everton has reignited his love for the game. I haven't seen that passion on his face for years at Old Trafford.

MK: Man Utd are title contenders but they are not the only ones. City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea and Huddersfield...

The train I was on this morning heading north from London was absolutely packed, as you would expect for a game between Manchester United and West Ham.

Standing up for two hours was a minor inconvenience compared to others, who will struggle to get here at all.

A major incident at Bletchley earlier today meant the west coast main line services from Euston was suspended.

There are other ways of getting to Manchester from London - but they take much longer and it is fair to assume many fans will not get to Old Trafford at all.

It is no surprise to see Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic making their Premier League debuts for Manchester United.

New West Ham striker Javier Hernandez is back on familiar ground as he makes his return to English football, starting up front against his former employers.

    Full team news to follow.

Man Utd XI: De Gea, Valencia, Bailly, Jones, Blind, Matic, Pogba, Mata, Rashford, Mkhitaryan, Lukaku.

West Ham XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Reid, Ogbonna, Masuaku, Fernandes, Obiang, Noble, Ayew, Arnautovic, Hernandez.

The increased expectation is, of course, to be... er... expected. When you add £150m of talent to a team that have just won the Europa League and already has a fair share of costly ability washing through it, you're going to have to live with it.

Fortunately for United, this is what Jose does. Ever since he led Porto to that remarkable Champions League win, Mourinho has dealt with the burden of having to win, largely with aplomb.

He would appear to be welcoming it as well...

Before the start of this Premier League campaign, we asked 40 BBC TV and radio pundits, presenters, journalists and commentators for their predicted top four at the end of the league campaign.

Thirteen of them chose Manchester United as champions. Another 13 had them down to finish second.

I think it's fair to say that a little bit more is expected of Jose Mourinho's side this time around.
