Barrie McKay works into some space on the wing and puts in a cross but Pontus Jansson is on hand to block it.

Leeds then move quickly and at the other end, Ezgjan Alioski unleashes a shot which is saved by Jordan Smith.

    Lovely stuff, this.

    FT: Brentford 0-0 Wolves

    NunoImage source, Rex Features

Third-placed Wolves drew with bottom side Brentford and boss Nuno Espirito Santo thinks the Bees should be higher up the league.

He told BBC WM: "I'm not happy because we came here for the three points but one point is good.

"It was a very good game of football with two teams trying to play quality football and both had good chances.

"The table is totally false. It's clear Brentford play good football and they have had bad luck."

The hosts make their second change of the match as Zach Clough comes on for Ben Osborn.

What was that I was saying about Forest?

Suddenly all the play is at the other end and Liam Bridcutt blocks an initial Leeds shot but the ball falls to Samuel Saiz who tries his luck from the edge of the box but it sails wide.

Loud calls from the home fans again and Tendayi Darikwa looks furious as Pablo Hernandez looks to have pulled his shirt.

Soon after, Forest work the ball into the box and Daryl Murphy just cannot get his shot away as he's greeted by a wall of Leeds players just yards from goal.

Surely the hosts can get something out of this.

    Nottm Forest 0-1 Leeds

Liam Bridcutt is booked for a hard challenge on Leeds' Samuel Saiz.

Chance for Forest, Osborn plays a neat through ball to Ben Brereton who scuffs a delivery into the box but Luke Ayling is on hand to clear it.

This is better from the hosts.

  8. Boro did not do basics - Monkpublished at 18:39 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

    FT: Middlesbrough 0-0 Preston

Promotion favourites Middlesbrough drew 0-0 with Preston and boss Garry Monk was unimpressed by his team's performance.

He told BBC Tees: "We didn't do the basics right. We've got high standards here and we fell below those today.

"In any match you have to get the basics right and we were second best, especially in the first half.

"We didn't get the control of the game that we wanted. The positive is that we take a point and we've kept a clean sheet. The performance did not merit three points."

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 51 mins

    Nottm Forest 0-1 Leeds

We have our first substitution of the match and it's come early in the second half. Nottingham Forest's Andreas Bouchalakis is replaced by Ben Brereton.

  10. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Nottm Forest 0-1 Leeds

Leeds' Samuel Saiz has won a free-kick on the edge of the box on the right wing and I'm not even sure there's any contact from Matt Mills. It seems like Saiz lost his balance and just fell over.

Fortunately for Forest, Ezgjan Alioski lofts his free-kick straight at Jordan Smith.

  12. We're short of quality - Redknapppublished at 18:30 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

    FT: Birmingham City 0-2 Reading

    Harry RedknappImage source, Rex Features

Reading recorded a 2-0 win at Birmingham City and Blues boss Harry Redknapp thinks his squad needs bolstering before the transfer window closes.

He told BBC Radio WM: "It was a very disappointing afternoon but however you box it up we are where we were last year.

"We're short of quality. It's difficult.

"If we don't have a good few days in the market then we could be in for a long old season. I think we need four or five more players."

  13. Leeds missing focal point in attackpublished at 18:26 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

    HT: Nottm Forest 0-1 Leeds

    Noel Whelan
    Ex-Leeds United striker

"A few more better decisions and Leeds could have been more than 1-0 right now.

"We're missing a targetman. I think we've got into some really good wide areas and with not having Chris Wood up there now there's nobody really in that box."

  14. Blades had to take chances - Sharppublished at 18:25 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

    FT: Sheff United 3-1 Derby

    Billy SharpImage source, Rex Features

Sheffield United beat Derby 3-1 with skipper Billy Sharp scoring twice.

"I thought we controlled it and we looked good in possession. We had a couple of gifts but we had to take them," Sharp told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"It was a difficult test and we've come through it with flying colours.

"Nine points is a good start and we just need to find a way to pick up points away from home.

"The longer the home run goes on the better it is for us because it means teams come here maybe playing for a draw and that plays into our hands."

    I know what you're thinking.

"Jay, why does it look like Nottingham Forest are playing MLS side Seattle Sounders?"

Well believe it or not, the picture above is of Leeds United keeper Felix Wiedwald and I think we can all agree, that is an absolutely tremendous goalkeeper kit.

    10/10.

That's it for the first half and Leeds United will be heading to the dressing room with a narrow one goal lead courtesy of Kemar Roofe's 24th-minute header.

Forest haven't backed down but they haven't given much in the way of a threat on goal. Can they get something out of this game?

They've got another 45 minutes to find at least a goal.

  17. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Nottm Forest 0-1 Leeds

Ezgjan Alioski finds himself in acres of space and chips in a ball to Samuel Saiz that just evades him.

Fortunately for the Leeds man, he keeps it in play and eventually tees up Alioski to drill in a cross towards goal but there's no one on hand to poke it home.

  18. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Nottm Forest 0-1 Leeds

Armand Traore has again gone in for a challenge with a Leeds player where they've come out of it worse off.

This time he's gone in hard on Ezgjan Alioski, who winces with pain but eventually gets back up.

Half-time is soon approaching, but can Forest go in on level terms?

    George MoncurImage source, Rex Features

Barnsley beat Sunderland 3-0 thanks to goals from Ike Ugbo, Harvey Barnes and George Moncur.

"It was a very good performance and I'm very pleased. It's been coming," boss Paul Heckingbottom told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"We know we've got a long way to go and there was a lot wrong today even.

"We'll be probably be doing some more business this week. I hope it's done nice and early but Thursday could be a late one."

Shouts from the home crowd as Leeds keeper Felix Wiedwald looks to have brought down Ben Osborn but referee Jeremy Simpson waves it away.

What an atmopshere. Both sets of fans are in fine voice.
