    Nottm Forest 0-1 Leeds

Forest are keeping the pressure on and Matt Mills leaps up to head a corner towards goal but Leeds keeper Felix Wiedwald is on hand to collect the ball.

There's more goals in this, I can feel it.

Credit where it's due, Forest haven't sat back after going a goal down but they are just lacking the ability to latch on to that final ball in front of goal.

Barrie McKay races down the wing and plays in towards the box but there's no one on the end of it.

    Wasted.

"Leeds were just getting on top of the game.

"Liam Cooper showed good intelligence and Kemar Roofe has done well to get it in. He knew what he wanted to do because it was not an easy header.

"When you're playing football the way Roofe is at the moment everything goes right for you."

Fresh from his hat-trick against Newport County in the EFL Cup in midweek, Kemar Roofe has headed home from close range to put the visitors ahead at the City Ground.

The former Oxford United man struggled in front of goal last season but surely his confidence will be sky high right now.

    Nottm Forest 0-0 Leeds

Leeds are starting to dominate now and Samuel Saiz has drawn another shot on goal which the hosts struggle to deal with.

Forest boss Mark Warburton is screaming at his players and doesn't look happy at all. He'll want his players to calm things down a bit.

Not me though, I want goals, goals and more goals and I don't care who scores them.

    Nottm Forest 0-0 Leeds

Leeds' Luke Ayling has come off worse in an aerial challenge for the ball with Armand Traore.

The home fans boo him as soon as he gets up but, to be fair, it was a very robust challenge indeed.

A Forest free-kick is whipped into the box towards the onrushing Daryl Murphy, who just can't get any contact on the ball. An inch the other way and that surely would have gone in.

That was close. End to end stuff, here!

We have a first shot on goal and it's come from Leeds' Samuel Saiz, who fires just wide of the mark from outside the box.

    Game on!

Both sides are working each other out as things stand. Forest, to give them credit, are passing the ball about well and have dominated much of the early possession.

Which of these two footballing giants will draw first blood?

The players are out at the City Ground and kick-off is soon approaching.

For football shirt geeks like myself, Leeds are wearing a rather fetching (if tight) black number while Forest are in their traditional all-red. Saucy.

Both Leeds United and Nottingham Forest enjoyed thumping EFL Cup wins this week. Kemar Roofe scored a hat-trick as Leeds thrashed Newport County 5-1 while Forest beat Premier League side Newcastle United 3-2 after extra time.

Leeds were rather generous towards their visitors, however. They agreed to honour the usual 45% share of gate income with the Exiles despite not being required to, after Newport could not play the tie at their Rodney Parade home as their pitch is being relaid.

Which side will come out on top today, though? Kick off is approaching.

Here's what I suggest. Order a takeaway, kick back and relax, enjoy some live text coverage of today's real main event - Nottingham Forest v Leeds United - and have a tactical nap before watching a boxing match that's received basically no promotion whatsoever..

Well, if Nottingham Forest v Leeds is today's main event in the EFL then it's fair to say it's been a pretty decent undercard.
