Tottenham can get more joy in wide areas as the Chelsea midfield three tire. As it stands it's becoming clear that the Blues' midfield is flagging.

    Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

If Tottenham lose this game then Mauricio Pochettino needs to have a look at his side's delivery from set pieces. They win another - their 11th of the match but once again it is cleared comfortably.

  3. Spurs turn up the pressurepublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 20 August 2017

Spurs have carried on where they left off in the first half - exerting lots of pressure but just unable to find the breakthrough.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is an agitated figure in his technical area, gesturing wildly at his defenders not to drop too deep but Spurs are forcing the issue.

Mauricio Pochettino is sat in the dugout, deep in thought. He has never lost a London derby match at home but that record is in danger now. Will he turn to his substitutes soon? It feels like Son Heung-min's creativity is needed to unlock this Chelsea defence.

David Luiz gives Alavaro Morata the ball to chase as he hits it long over the defence. Morata scampers after it but there's no chance he is beating Hugo Lloris to the ball.

Morata hasn't quite had the impact he would have liked in this game. A golden chance right at the start but nothing of note since.

Harry Kane rests his head against the post in frustration as he sees another opportunity snuffed out when he is just beaten to the ball in the box by Cesar Azpilicueta.

He's had seven shots on goal - two more than the entire Chelsea team - but the ball just won't go in the net for him.

Biafran God: Spurs getting off with red card tackles. Why was Cahill sent off last week for a less threatening tackle?

Lee Kibbey: Shocking lack of consistency over red cards this season.

Richard: Clear red card for Vertonghen. Not sure what game the ref is watching if he can't see that.

Chelsea have a corner, their second of the game compared to 10 for Tottenham. Willian takes it but it goes all the way through to N'Golo Kante on the far side of the box. The midfielder thinks about a shot for a second before opting instead to pass back to Willian, who works his way into the box before over hitting a cross to the far post. Chance gone.

Jan Vertonghen's challenge then was really bad, knee high on Moses. He's lucky to have escaped with yellow, because he was endangering the safety of another player.

Ooof. Nasty challenge by Jan Vertonghen as he goes straight through Victor Moses. Yellow card. It's been quite a feisty contest at times.

    Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

That is a glaring miss from Harry Kane. He sees it all the way, he's only six yards out and he's got his head in his hands.

We've talked about Alvaro Morata's miss in the first half... that is just as bad.

Tottenham pick up right where they left off as Cesar Azpilicueta gets a crucial block in on Christian Eeiksen and the ball goes behind. From the corner, Spurs' eighth of the game, Harry Kane's bullet header hits David Luiz and deflects wide, although it didn't look on target anyway.

A worrying moment for Marcos Alonso as a bit of hair flops out of place. He sweeps it back into position and we are good to go.

    No changes for either side.

There has been no shortage of skill but also so much force and power. Thunderous challenges - some good, some dubious. I'm not sure Alvaro Morata knows what he's let himself in for but Tiemoue Bakayoko looks right at home. David Luiz and Eric Dier are among those to have been booked - will they last? It's all being played out in a raucous atmosphere. Fantastic stuff.

  15. Rock-solid Luizpublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 20 August 2017

    Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

A big reason for Chelsea winning is David Luiz. The defender has been superb both in defence and attack. He won the free-kick that led to Marcos Alonso's goal, made two important clearances and has had more touches of the ball than any other Chelsea player (30).

He is walking the tightrope, however, after picking up a first-half yellow card. Surely Chelsea are not going to have a player sent off for the third straight game?

BtheG: Breathtaking first half. Feels like watching UEFA Champions League final!

Rob: What's the difference between Dier's challenge and Cahill's red card last week? No consistency. Refs showing bias.

Jaleel Oladipo: Football's rules should be altered such that no half-time when a match is as good as this first half, unless the players ask for one!

What a contest this has been. Morata should have buried that chance after five minutes, a glorious opening, and you wondered whether that miss would affect him. Chelsea started the better and are ahead thanks to a moment of brilliance.

But right at the end Tottenham were well on top and would not have wanted half-time. Chelsea now have a chance to regroup.

Excellent work by Jan Vertonghen on the left as he skips past his marker and crosses low towards the near post for Eric Dier but his shot is wide.

Neutrals won't want this half to end - a great game of football - but Chelsea will be desperate for the whistle to be blown.
