Thibaut Courtois won't need to get to Yoga class after today's game. He's having to do all sorts of stretches in this half just to keep out Tottenham, this time denying Ben Davies.

We thought that was in, sitting up here in our commentary position!

Chelsea let Harry Kane back on his inside, and you'd fancy him on his right foot, but his shot smacked against the post and ricocheted away to safety.

  3. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:44 British Summer Time 20 August 2017

    Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

Harry Kane hasn't scored a single goal in August for Tottenham in 11 previous attempts, but it's not for the want of trying.

Great work by Dele Alli sets up a shooting chance for Kane and he smashes on low and hard. It beats Thibaut Courtois but hits the bottom of the far post before being cleared.

... great ball by Christian Eriksen, behind the defence and absolutely begging for someone, anyone, to get a foot to it. Several Tottenham players stick out a leg to try and reach it but the ball drifts agonisingly just ahead of them all and out for a goal kick.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 38 mins

    Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

Christian Eriksen gets blocked off by David Luiz as he attempts to run onto Kieran Trippier's forward pass. Anthony Taylor saw it and Luiz goes in the book.

Free-kick chance from just outside the box for Tottenham now...

Archie Small: Not sure what I love more, Marcos Alonso's free kicks or his hair!

I can confirm that not a single strand of Alonso's hair ended up out of place after he celebrated his goal. It defies science.

Antonio Conte has ditched the Chelsea tracksuit he wore during last weekend's hapless home loss to Burnley and is wearing his trademark dark suit again.

And at the moment his Chelsea team also look a lot more like last season's version.

    Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea have never lost a Premier League away game they've scored first in under Antonio Conte but then Spurs haven't lost any of their last six home Premier League matches in which they've conceded first. Something has to give (unless it's a draw!)

There's a break in play as Tiemoue Bakayoko is down on the ground clutching his back in pain. It's after colliding with Eric Dier as the two challenged for a high ball. Dier very much in the thick of things at the moment.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 32 mins

    Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

Anthony Taylor has to get his yellow card out twice in quick succession. First, Antonio Rudiger is booked for a foul on Harry Kane before Eric Dier is penalised for sliding in late on David Luiz. It's a terrible challenge, the Spurs man is probably lucky not to have seen red.

Tottenham have their tails up as Harry Kane goes twice in quick succession. First, he holds off Marcos Alonso to force a save out of Thibaut Courtois at his near post before shooting wide as Chelsea fail to clear.

Agubata Odinaka: What a peach of a strike by Marcus Alonso! He struck it sweetly and Lloris had no chance.

Chris Duckworth: Great free-kick from Alonso - you won't see many better than that.

Kritt Normsaskul: Brilliant free-kick by Alonso but not a foul on Luis in the first place. Touch harsh on Spurs. Still an even game.

    Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

Now Tottenham have the chance to respond with a free-kick of their own.

It's not as well positioned as Chelsea's free-kick. It's wide left but still very much Christian Eriksen territory and the midfielder floats the ball into the box, Chelsea head behind before Toby Alderweireld heads wide from the corner.

That is absolutely stunning! I thought that free-kick would suit a left-footer, but he got such pace on the ball up and over the ball.

Lloris moved well to his left but still he got absolutely nowhere near it.

A simply brilliant Marcos Alonso free-kick!

The Chelsea full-back lifts the ball over the wall and into the top right corner of the goal.

Absolutely no saving that one and the visitors are ahead.

Chelsea signed Tiemoue Bakayoko for his ability to break up attacks and then drive his side forward. He won 81% of his tackles in Ligue 1 last season but it's been a quiet showing by the midfielder so far. He's been spending most of the game wide right.

Strange scenes at Wembley. It sounds suspiciously like a drum beat is being played over the stadium's PA system to get Tottenham's fans going.

It received a less than flattering response from Chelsea's supporters.

  18. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Chelsea

Disappointing from Alvaro Morata as he gets muscled away from the ball far too easily by Mousa Dembele just outside the Chelsea area. Dembele pushes the ball forward before sending a fierce shot at goal that Thibaut Courtois does well to tip over. Tottenham looking the most likely to score at the moment.
