    Chelsea 2-0 Everton

Nothing on target from Everton so far and that remains the case, despite Ashley Williams' swivel and shot from the edge of the area.

The effort land on top of Thibaut Courtois's net.

    Stoke

    Shocker.

A horrible mix-up between goalkeeper and defender, allows Stoke to level.

Egyptian Ramadan Sobhi clips a ball into the box, fellow countryman Ahmed Hegazi tries to clear, but the ball comes off the diving Ben Foster at his feet.

It drops free for Peter Crouch to tuck into an open net.

The easiest goal the lanky striker will ever score. A real gift.

  5. One change eachpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 27 August 2017
    Breaking

    Tottenham v Burnley (16:00 BST)

Tottenham make one change from the side which lost 2-1 to Chelsea last time out as Mauricio Pochettino predictably makes an attacking tweak to his side.

Son Heung-Min replaces Victor Wanyama, who did not look match sharp against Chelsea, with the Kenyan midfielder not in the Spurs' match day squad.

Tottenham's record signing Davinson Sanchez has to settle for a place among the substitutes having joined from Ajax earlier this week as Pochettino keeps faith with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen for the time being.

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies, Dier, Dembele, Alli, Eriksen, Son, Kane

Burnley boss Sean Dyche also makes one change as Scott Arfield comes into the side for Jeff Hendrick, who is absent with a thigh problem.

  6. Mignolet droppedpublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 27 August 2017
    Breaking

    Liverpool v Arsenal (16:00 BST)

Liverpool drop goalkeeper Simon Mignolet from the squad entirely so Loris Karius makes his first appearance since January.

There is one other change from the 4-2 win over Hoffenheim in midweek - Joe Gomez replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold in defence.

    Still no Philippe Coutinho.

Liverpool XI: Karius, Gomez, Lovren, Matip, Moreno, Can, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Big team news for Arsenal - Alexis Sanchez makes his first appearance of the season. And Alexandre Lacazette drops to the bench.

Laurent Koscielny returns from suspension, taking the place of Shkodran Mustafi, who is reportedly set to join Inter Milan. The German is a substitute today.

The other change from last weekend's 1-0 defeat by Stoke sees Rob Holding replace Sead Kolasinac in defence.

That's both of the Gunners' summer signings dropped to the bench.

Arsenal XI: Cech, Koscielny, Holding, Monreal, Bellerin, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Xhaka, Ozil, Welbeck, Sanchez.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

    Chelsea 2-0 Everton

Wayne Rooney has been chirping at referee Jon Moss all game and the official finally loses his rag, striding over and unleashing a yellow card in the Everton man's face.

Wouldn't get too close if I were you, ref.

    Oh dear.

The ball drops nicely to Wayne Rooney on the edge of the 'D', but the former Manchester United man shanks his shot horribly wide.

Audible laughter from the home supporters.

Despite the introduction of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Everton have not created anything juicy for the speedy forward to get his lips around.

    Chelsea 2-0 Everton

    BBC Merseyside Sport
Ex-Everton winger Ronny Goodlass at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea's interplay is quick and precise, and seemingly all it takes is a neat one-two and they're in.

Calvert-Lewin is up top with Wayne Rooney. You won't find an Everton fan who says he's the finished article, but he's exciting and a willing runner. However, the Toffees need a lot more than that this afternoon - so far it's been a flat performance.

Everton are admittedly playing against a quality side, but they are always saying that want to compete alongside the big boys.

To be honest, Everton haven't been properly punished for what has become a very poor performance. We haven't seen the improvement in this second half that we were expecting.

  13. CLOSE!published at 14:50 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

One shot on target, one goal.

It has not been a watchable contest this, to be fair, but the hosts have broken the deadlock.

    Confident goalkeeping or crazy?

Jordan Pickford pulls his hands away inside the six yard box from Cesar Azpilicueta's low cross.

It is a brilliant decision by the Everton number one as no Chelsea player anticipated it.

In the next move, Pedro shoots wide from the edge of the box.

Everton's best chance of the game.
