  1. France fans outnumber Englishpublished at 19:41 British Summer Time 30 July 2017

    England v France (19:45 BST)

    Alistair Magowan
    BBC Sport in Deventer

Beautiful evening here in Deventer, close to the German border. France's fans have been in joyous spirits today, and are literally banging the drum for their team. They appear to outnumber the English fans and the ones I met earlier have a cheeky message for the English team.

The shootout had the manners to be completed just in time for the French national anthem in Deventer. Easily in the top three or four anthems in the world.

Just 15 minutes until England get their quarter-final under way. It's 43 years since they beat France but of course that is largely irrelevant, None of the players out there tonight were even close to being born.

It's 11 v 11. Mark Sampson is super confident. Can his players get out there and perform?

  11. French recent record is impressivepublished at 19:27 British Summer Time 30 July 2017

    England v France (19:45 BST)

    Jonathan Pearce
BBC Radio 5 live commentator in Deventer

The French record is pretty frightening over the years - unbeaten in 14 games and they beat the world champions 3-0 in the SheBelieves Cup in February. They've got really good players but England have got really good players too. The French defence had better watch out.

  13. We have to "beat the best"published at 19:22 British Summer Time 30 July 2017

    England v France (19:45 BST)

Kelly Simmons, FA Participation and Development Director: "Just look at our record and you can see that Mark Sampson has done a phenomenal job since he took over as coach. It would be a huge disappointment if we didn't get through tonight but if we are going to win this tournament, then we need to beat the best teams."

It's heading to penalties. I know it, you know it, they all know it. Extra time is largely pointless at major tournaments.

    England v France (19:45 BST)

England were runners up to the almighty Germany in 2009, and were semi-finallists back in 1995. They have never won the Euros but are favourites with some now.

France, on the other hand, have surprisingly never reached the last four. They have beaten England in each of the last three major tournaments...

We saw some of Mark Sampson's impact players against Portugal and I think the likes of Toni Duggan could play a huge part again tonight.

  19. HALF-TIME IN EXTRA TIMEpublished at 19:13 British Summer Time 30 July 2017

    Austria 0-0 Spain

The Denmark v Germany game this morning was a belter. This has been anything but. But with just 15 minutes left now in Tilburg you can perhaps forgive both sides for going into grind mode. The Austrian coaches are full of beans at the turnover anyway. They believe.

    As away we go...

Quite a few spectators are leaving. Not even a potential penalty shootout can encourage them to stay.
