Eugenie le Sommer - a danger

Mark Sampson says he's a street-fighter. That's why he's been happy to get involved in a verbal scrap with the French coach. But the spat shows that both men are under pressure.

France were so many people's pre-tournament favourites, but they just squeezed through.

Big names in their side haven't shone yet. Wendie Renard will be missed even though Laura Georges is a 180-capped replacement.

Eugenie le Sommer can win a game in a blink of an eye. Amandine Henry, on the back of a very good 2015 World Cup, is their best player again.

England will need all of those street-fighting qualities to come out on top in the latest chapter of this old feud.

Netherlands midfielder Danielle van de Donk: “I am definitely going to be watching that match, a lot of my Arsenal team mates will be playing in it and I like how they play.

"I am not going to predict anything but I am keen to see how it will be. I will be buzzing if I get the chance to play England because I know them and they know me and I think it will be a good game."

    England v France (19:45 BST)

As we expected Mark Sampson goes back to England's first-choice XI. Just Millie Bright keeps her place from the team which beat Portugal.

England: Bardsley; Bronze, Houghton, Bright, Stokes; Scott, Moore; Kirby, White, Nobbs; Taylor

    Austria 0-0 Spain

A bit of a surprise as Spain take off Vicky Losada, who was influential in midfield. No goals though, let's see what Alexia Putellas can bring to the table. I should have the England team news for you in a mo too.

  6. Capturing the imagination?published at 18:21 British Summer Time 30 July 2017

    Austria 0-0 Spain

    Seth Bennett
BBC World Service reporter at Willem II Stadion

Over a million people watched Austria’s final group game, a 3-0 win over Iceland. Not bad considering the total population of the country is about 8.5 million.

They have just announced the attendance here at the stadium, 3488. It is a shame there are not more locals here to enjoy the experience.

  7. Postpublished at 62 mins

    Austria 0-0 Spain

You're in! A mistake in the Spanish backline allows Nina Burger a cleanish run on goal but she never once gets her head up to see what is on and she gets shepherded out by Marta Corredera for a corner. That was a chance!

    And we aren't getting many.

  8. Postpublished at 58 mins

    Austria 0-0 Spain

Nothing on for Silvia Meseguer so she takes on a shot from 35 yards, it looks hugely ambitious but takes a deflection and almost loops in until Austrian keeper Manuela Zinsberger turns it away!

Still no goal for Spain since their opening game.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 56 mins

    Austria 0-0 Spain

A change will do you good. Olga Garcia is on for Spain for the underdone Mariona Caldentey, who looks miffed at being replaced.

  10. CLOSE!published at 53 mins

    Austria 0-0 Spain

And that's the best chance so far! Austria force a corner which is met by sub Nadine Prohaska, a very decent header but it's straight at Sandra Panos who gathers at the second attempt.

  11. No pies?!published at 18:11 British Summer Time 30 July 2017

    Austria 0-0 Spain

No pie and peas at half-time in the press rooms here in the Netherlands. A choice of four kinds of sandwich all with the customary dollop of mayo or vegetable soup. This game needs a goal!

    Austria 0-0 Spain

You're either a fan of this Spanish style of play. or you're not. It's all sideways passes, not losing the ball but not really using it either.

Spain do have striker Jennifer Hermoso on the bench. She's a regular for PSG and for Spain usually but was dropped today. We need a goal from somewhere!

Time for the second half then. It's there to be won for Austria - just need to pull the pin and go for it

Just under two hours until kick-off in the England game and the French players are out inspecting the pitch in Deventer. Any nerves among the camp?

  16. More ambition neededpublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 30 July 2017

    Austria 0-0 Spain

    Seth Bennett
BBC World Service reporter at Willem II Stadion

Not a game that has got the blood pumping yet, but with so much at stake both sides have played a pretty conservative game. In a similar manner to the rest of the tournament, Spain have kept the ball well, without looking really threatening. Austria have worked hard to stay in the game and every time Laura Feiersinger has the ball they look a threat. A tad more ambition will be required though, if they are to reach the semi-finals.

    Austria 0-0 Spain

Spain had 68% of the ball in the first half, making over 300 passes to Austria's 90-odd. But they don't do a great deal with it. Where's the Plan B?

You don't have to look too hard to find friends and family of the England team when covering their matches.

Here are Millie Bright's family, including mum Nicola in orange, who says she's had a sleepless night but had her nerves calmed when she spoke to Millie on FaceTime earlier.

"We're still pinching ourselves that we're here to watch Millie," she says, referencing Bright's major tournament debut. She's looked well suited to the international stage so far at Euro 2017, but tonight will no doubt be her biggest test.

The injured Lisa Makas is inconsolable. She has finally made her way back to the Austria bench where is she is getting plenty of sympathy from her team mates.

France are missing one of their key players tonight, with captain Wendie Renard suspended having picked up two bookings during the group stages.

The towering centre-back lifted the Women's Champions League trophy in Cardiff in June, as her club side Lyon were crowned European champions for the second successive season.
