Stuart Derry: Bruce and Pallister having a nightmare at the back
CCMU: Man Utd now 2-0 down to Shef Utd. Fergie's clueless. Last season was our one chance. #fergieout, external
Sheffield United 2-0 Manchester United
Dion Dublin is out warming up for Manchester United, who just haven't got going since half time. Throw him on?
An absolute hit. A floor-filler for generations to come.

Just bought Rhythm is a Dancer on cassette. Tune! I'm going to be grooving to this right through the rest of '92!
Matt in Liverpool

John Gannon into the book for a nasty late tackle on Mike Phelan.
[If I can switch to 2017 mode briefly, that would be a five-game ban now!]
Sheffield United 2-0 Manchester United
Was Gary Pallister out on the town last night? It's possible. He's playing like it, robbed again by Alan Cork and he needs Steve Bruce to bail him out.

Barry Davies
BBC commentator at Bramall Lane
Dave Bassett has had to field so many enquiries about Brian Deane, as many from supporters as from other clubs, and he has made a marvellous start after signing a new two-year contract. A real buzz around Bramall Lane.
David Smith (51 mins)
If the first few hours of the Premier League are teaching us anything it's that goalkeepers can't deal with crosses into the box. Boro custodian Steve Pears is the latest to get in a muddle and leave David Smith with a tap-in at Highfield Road.

Steve Pye: 2-0 to Arsenal. Looks like being a long afternoon for Norwich. Can't see them getting back into it with this defence.
Brian Deane (Pen, 50 mins)
Never in doubt.
Roars all around Bramall Lane as Brian Deane steps up to slot past Peter Schmeichel and make it 2-0.
That Christmas lunch in midweek has done the job!
Sheffield United 1-0 Manchester United
A nightmare at the back for Manchester United!
Steve Bruce tries to cut out a long pass forwards, gets nowhere near it and it leaves Alan Cork up against Gary Pallister.
Cork is no Linford, but he has the legs and Pallister makes a real hash of his challenge, sweeping Cork to the deck. An easy decision for referee Brian Hill.
Pallister is having a nightmare.
Sheffield United 1-0 Manchester United
No changes for either side at the break - Manchester United only have Dion Dublin on the bench now of course after Mike Phelan came on early on to replace the injured Paul Ince.
Sheffield United 1-0 Manchester United
And away we go! Can Manchester United turn this around?
It will cost some dough to get him out of Nottingham Forest I would have thought...

Tom Watson: Shame Roy Keane is nailed on to move to Blackburn, think he'd be a good signing for United
Sheffield United 1-0 Manchester United
Plenty of work for Alex Ferguson to do...
Don't rush off to make a brew as we're not hanging about - the second half is coming straight up.

I can see Norwich struggling this year, particularly after selling Robert Fleck. This Chris Sutton looks a bit average! A shame really as Ipswich look strong and will probably finish ahead of us.
Ben, Norwich
Barry Horne (44 mins)
Oh yes! Another debut goal, this time for Everton midfielder Barry Horne, as he latches on to a knockdown and smashes in a shot off the underside of the crossbar.
I can report that Wednesday's high-profile debutant Chris Waddle, by the way, has had to go off with a knee injury. A massive blow.
Sheffield United 1-0 Manchester United
Cross driven in by Ryan Giggs but Simon Tracey in the Sheffield United goal looks solid as a rock. One of the better keepers with the ball at his feet too. The backpass rule isn't going to cause him any bother.
