    FT: Celtic 4-1 Hearts

Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor has been speaking to Radio Scotland about the champions' opening 4-1 victory over Hearts.

"It was a great start to the season," he said. "We wanted to put on a show for the first day of the season and we have done that.

"It was important for us to hit the ground running and show the others we mean business.

"In the first half, they sat in and made things difficult. We just had to be patient and play the way we do and thankfully we got the goals in the end.

"It is a big squad and big competition for places and you have got to be at your best to play.

"Hopefully that has showed the manager what I can do.

"He just wants me to continue the form I showed last season with some big performances and big goals."
