The goals have dried up a little.

In this group, Borussia Dortmund have gone behind at APOEL. That would be three defeats from three for Dortmund. They'll be all but out if they lose this one.

Chants of "Sergio, Sergio... Sergio, Sergio" will offer a clue about which Argentina striker, who recently damaged some ribs in a car crash, is warming up. That has got the crowd excited again.

City could do with a lift on the pitch too. Fair to say they have not hit the heights since half-time, and Pep Guardiola is not particularly happy about it.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:06 British Summer Time 17 October 2017

    Real Madrid 1-1 Tottenham

Another crucial save from Hugo Lloris.

Cristiano Ronaldo needs a couple of touches to get the ball under control in the box, but his thunderous strike is acrobatically pushed away by the Frenchman.

The ball falls to Isco on the edge of the box, but his shot comes off Davinson Sanchez and rolls nicely into Lloris's hands.

I wouldn't say Karim Benzema is overrated, I actually think he isn't rated highly enough.

But then Gary Lineker knows a tad more about footy than me.

Real are getting closer and closer to a second, Spurs are being pegged back.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who has scored once, has a couple of chances in quick succession but cannot direct them on target.

That is an unbelievable reaction save. Hugo Lloris spread himself, made himself as big as possible and it caught his trailing leg. That is a free header, six yards out. Incredible from Lloris!

Oh my, how did he keep this out???

Karim Benzema meets Casemiro's cross in the six-yard box with a thumping header, but Hugo Lloris flies through the air to keep the ball out.

    Save of the season.

    Roberto Firmino

    Five star Liverpool.

The visitors cannot make much of the corner, but do get a free-kick down the left.

It is swung in dangerously by Philippe Coutinho towards the front post and Roberto Firmino rises to deftly head in towards the far post.

Harry Kane has the beating of Raphael Varane. That is a weakness Tottenham can exploit - it was Kane's presence that led to the own goal off Varane, remember.

Looks like the Real Madrid players have been given a telling off by boss Zinedine Zidane at half time.

They are in a rush in this second half...but a little bit too much.

Cristiano Ronaldo lashes a first-time, left-footed, half-volley over from eight yards. He had more time than he thought there.

Tom Gregory: The prospect of being swapped for Sanchez seems to have lit a fire under Sterling this season.

Gotta say, he has had a great start to the season. His best goalscoring tally is 11, he is already on eight by October.

  18. City set for more second-half improvement?published at 20:47 British Summer Time 17 October 2017

    Man City 2-0 Napoli

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

By their own extremely high recent standards, Manchester City got a wee bit sloppy at the end of that first half, and although Napoli did not score, they probably have a bit more hope than they did after 30 minutes or so.

City fans still rightly stood to applaud their players off the pitch, though, because they were absolutely brilliant in every department for the most part.

And the really good news for the supporters is that their side tend to get better after the break - certainly at home this season anyway, when they have scored more goals in the second half of every match than they managed in the first.

    Be warned, Napoli...
