  1. CLOSE!published at 21:00 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2017

    Roma 2-0 Chelsea

Alvaro Morata is 10% down on confidence, at least. He's not quite on it but that's a good touch to set up a shot from the edge of the area, he drags it wide though.

  2. Olympiakos holding outpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2017

Olympiakos are defending doggedly against Barcelona.

Lionel Messi and Gerard Deulofeu almost combine to give Luis Suarez a tap-in but the Greek champions somehow clear.

Olympiakos need to at least match Juventus' result to keep their hopes of qualification alive. They're doing even better at the moment, as Juve are still 1-0 down to Sporting Lisbon.

  3. Getting in the way?published at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2017

    Roma 2-0 Chelsea

As this graphic would seem to suggest, Chelsea's central midfield players appear to be occupying too much of the same space.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2017

    Roma 2-0 Chelsea

Gary Cahill comes off for Wilian. A few chess pieces shuffled around the board.

  5. 'Perotti twisting'published at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2017

    Roma 2-0 Chelsea

    Phil Neville
Former England & Man Utd defender on BBC Radio 5 live in Rome

It was an acute angle for Dzeko.

That was the first time we have really seen something of Diego Perotti on that left-hand side. He was twisting and driving.

  6. Postpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2017

    Manchester United 1-0 Benfica

The good and the bad of Anthony Martial in one move. He gets away from two defenders with a superb flick but then lashes a shot over the top. He then gets into the area again but runs out of play.

The potential is there for all to see.

  7. Postpublished at 20:57 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2017

    Roma 2-0 Chelsea

Strike! Diego Perotti, who has been excellent in both games against Chelsea, dances through midfield and finds Edin Dzeko on the left-hand side of the area. It's an acute angle but he leans back and thumps a shot over the top.

  8. Postpublished at 20:55 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2017

    Manchester United 1-0 Benfica

As it stands Manchester United and Basel are both qualifying for the last 16 tonight. I don't think many had the Swiss to be through with two games to go.

  9. 'Willian will come on'published at 20:53 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2017

    Roma 2-0 Chelsea

    Phil Neville
Former England & Man Utd defender on BBC Radio 5 live in Rome

It won't be long before Willian is definitely on this field.

He is unlucky not to start most of the time and he is one who can make a difference.

  10. Postpublished at 20:53 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2017

    Roma 2-0 Chelsea

Chelsea look great on the counter but with Roma 2-0 up they can sit back themselves. Can Chelsea work through a massed defence? That's the question for this second half.

Nige: Conte is the new tinker man! Can't stop messing with the defence, much to our detriment.

Ari: Chelsea had a bad summer and not getting enough players coming in is costing them, they're just not ready for this season.

  12. 'No discipline'published at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2017

    Roma 2-0 Chelsea

    Phil Neville
Former England & Man Utd defender on BBC Radio 5 live in Rome

I worry about that Chelsea midfield of Cesc Fabregas and Tiemoue Bakayoko - there is no discipline in there whatsoever.

    Missing N'Golo Kante.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2017

    Celtic 0-1 Bayern

Celtic can get a result tonight, they've played really well. That's a good save from stand-in Sven Ulreich, down well to push Stuart Armstrong's deflected effort wide.

  14. Postpublished at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2017

    Roma 2-0 Chelsea

Lovely feet from Aleksander Kolarov, nutmegging Pedro straight from kick-off. Edin Dzeko goes up for a header but puts the effort wide off his hip in the end.
