The most important stat though. It remains 0-0.

  2. 'Worried for Spurs'published at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2017

    Tottenham 1-0 Real Madrid

    Ian Wright
Former Arsenal & England striker on Radio 5 live

Real Madrid started pretty slowly but they are getting more and more into it. After Tottenham scored, you could see Ronaldo get agitated and he wanted to get more involved.

You just feel a little bit worried for Tottenham.

  3. 'Pure enjoyment'published at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2017

    Tottenham 1-0 Real Madrid

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger on Radio 5 live

It was a really enjoyable half of football and both teams are playing really open. Tottenham are 1-0 up and that's the least they deserve right now.

It was pure enjoyment. They are committing the team forward. It is being played at a great pace.

WHAT a 45 minutes. The games at Wembley and in Naples have been absolutely breakneck.

I think Dele Alli threw his legs in between the defender's then. There will be shouts for a penalty but the referee has got that right.

    It's an absolutely brilliant tackle.

  9. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2017

    Tottenham 1-0 Real Madrid

A decent shout for Spurs now as Dele Alli goes down in a heap just inside the area. The pace of the attacking is something else. Casemiro did really well actually to win that through Alli's legs.

Jay Barnes: Real Madrid to sack Zidane and hire Wenger. A win for everyone across the board. Except Zidane, of course.

Richard: Spurs doing well to hang on here. Real totally dominant. What do you mean Spurs are the team in white!?

Hitcho: Liverpool won the CL in 2005 with a side that has nothing on this Spurs squad (Gerrard aside). It's not that unlikely...

KoloKK: Anfield has embarrassingly been quiet. The need to see Klopp recreate his Dortmund feats at Anfield is connected to the fans.

  11. Important goal for Dortmundpublished at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2017

    Borussia Dortmund 1-0 Apoel Nicosia

Guerreiro scores for Dortmund against Apoel!

Tonight's crucial for Dortmund - if they lose and there's a draw in the other match, they can’t finish in the top two.

They, of course, are in the same group as Spurs and Madrid.

  12. Top class 45published at 20:29 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2017

    Tottenham 1-0 Real Madrid

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

Real Madrid have come to life since conceding that goal but Spurs still playing with a lovely flow. It has been a top-class first 45 minutes and Mauricio Pochettino's side really looking at home on the Champions League stage.

  13. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:29 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2017

    Napoli 1-1 Manchester City

    Penalty?! Nope.

Raheem Sterling into the area at re-entry speed, he gets an arm on the shoulder from Elseid Hysaj but the official behind the goal says no dice.

Elated but refusing to breathe until Spurs can score again. That goal won't have sat well with Ronaldo!

    Tottenham 1-0 Real Madrid

Hard to take your eyes off this one. Cristiano Ronaldo plays in a beautiful pass to free Karim Benzema, he picks out Ronaldo with the cutback but it's charged down well.

Karim Benzema then shoots at Hugo Lloris from 18 yards. This is knackering just watching.

  16. Postpublished at 20:26 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2017

    Tottenham 1-0 Real Madrid

Chance! Moussa Sissoko miskicks and Harry Kane sees a shot well blocked. A few appeals for an infringement, not sure what that's for.

Sissoko had a great chance there. Spurs looking for a second before half time. Electric pace.

  17. 'Pace hurting players'published at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2017

    Tottenham 1-0 Real Madrid

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger on Radio 5 live

This game has absolutely flown by. There is great intensity out there and I think it is actually starting to hurt some of the players.

There are one or two players who don't like playing at this pace...

  18. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2017

    Napoli 1-1 Manchester City

Fernandinho almost gets in a total tangle at the edge of his own area but just about gets it back, and then City break at a ridiculous pace, Raheem Sterling having a shot blocked away.

City send the big lads forwards and after Nicolas Otamendi has a great chance but miscues, John Stones heads against the bar from 16 yards out! Great header.

I’m an Arsenal fan but just great to see English teams beating European heavyweights. All 5 teams are likely to qualify so maybe we are witnessing the rise of Premier League teams.

Real have been strong since falling behind but Spurs haven't had any major scares yet. Will Kieran Trippier get a start for England in the games coming up? He's been outstanding tonight.
