Manchester United are just starting to ramp up the pressure. Paul Pogba looks absolutely majestic out there, he's dominating possession and cruising around.

    Basel 0-0 Manchester United

There seems to be no issue with the relaid surface. The ball is zipping quite nicely along it as Manchester United pass the ball around in midfield. They have no real desire to play any risky balls. No need, this scoreline sends them through.

The standard of football in this Juve-Barca game is making me long for the relative quality of the Europa League. Yes, it’s that poor, surprisingly.

GOAL - PSG 2-1 Celticpublished at 20:09 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    Neymar (22 mins)

Genius. That's all you can really say. Nothing at all I think Celtic can do about this as Neymar pops a one-two with Marco Verratti, his first touch propels him beyond a Celtic defender and then he snakes home left-footed from just inside the area.

    So accurate, so well struck.

Celtic are having a real go - close from Olivier Ntcham as he slams a 25-yarder wide. But...

  6. Pogba 'lifts United'published at 20:08 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    Basel 0-0 Manchester United

It's a bit like when Arsenal would have had Thierry Henry not in the side. Other teams would look at it and go 'oh thank goodness'. If he's not on the team sheet you almost breath a sigh of relief. Paul Pogba comes in and the Basel players think 'oh he's dangerous' and that gives his own players a big lift. He's always available, always wants the ball.

No problem with Messi being benched. A point *effectively* puts Barça through as group winners. And with Valencia on Saturday, which is a tough game.

    Juventus 0-0 Barcelona

Barca win a free-kick which Ivan Rakitic bends in. A devilish delivery, Gigi Buffon can't get there, neither can a stretching Paulinho and the bounce takes the ball against the far post!

  9. CLOSE!published at 20:07 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    PSG 1-1 Celtic

Almost brilliant. PSG clip a long ball over the top, Kylian Mbappe is onside and watches it drop over his shoulder before hooking a volley on on goal.

It's over the top, but applaud the ambition and the technique there from the youngster.

Corner for Basel as Daley Blind blocks Michael Lang's cross. Inswinger by Luca Zuffi but there's Marouane Fellaini to head clear. The Belgian is having a good game so far. He's earned at least one slice of birthday cake.

Fellaini did well holding off the defender. He was just starting to drift past the near post and his contact was almost too good, He headed it in a straight line and off target. They're always difficult those headers.

PSG keeper Alphonse Areola is having a nightmare as he now spills a cross into the goalmouth. He's very lucky to get away with that, and he was under no pressure at all.

    Juventus 0-0 Barcelona

Very little of note has happened in Turin, although as I say that Juan Cuadrado heads back blindly and Andres Iniesta volleys over from a tight angle.

Barca win the group with a point remember.

Far be it from me to tell a striker worth £75m what to do but Romelu Lukaku had his head down for far too long for that earlier opportunity, failing to spot the advancing Basel goalkeeper until it was too late. Arguably should have done better.

Watch him get a hat-trick now.

Celtic have to make a very early change as Mikael Lustig has picked up an injury. On comes Nir Bitton. That means a reshuffle for Brendan Rodgers and somebody new having to pick up Neymar...

Two fabulous opportunities for Manchester United. Initilaly Romelu Lukaku did so well, was so strong against the defender. A brilliant save by the goalkeeper and then the second phase - Marouane Fellaini didn't quite get enough power on his header.

    The Lingard debate rages on

Pete De Mouilpied: I don't get why people have a problem with Lingard, you don't get to where he has without having ability. Plenty before him have come through and not pushed on. Fair play to the lad.

Dave W: There are dozens of players more talented than Lingard in local Mancherster leagues alone. United need some new scouts.

    Basel 0-0 Manchester United

How are Manchester United not ahead!?

A sublime pass by Paul Pogba slices through the Basel back line and finds Romelu Lukaku. He uses his strength to hold off his marker but his shot is denied by the keeper. Then, seconds later, Marouane Fellaini's header is cleared off the line.

Surely only a matter of time before the visitors are ahead based on their showing so far.

Basel look like the side who only need to draw to go through. They are showing very little attacking intent, keeping players behind the ball as Manchester United patiently try to work an opening.
