Mark: Good to see English clubs dominate Europe. Nice to see Jack Wilshere making an impact. Probably naturally better than most English midfielders.

Matt: I’m a Spurs fan and I’d take Wilshere to Russia. Forget Rooney, best naturally talented English player since Gazza.

Jon: Can we please stop talking about Jack Wilshere already? This BATE are so bad even Ospina might fancy his chances of scoring from an injury time header. And even if BATE break away they couldn't even put the goal in an empty net.

Arsenal's record European win is 7-0, they've done that a few times. Are we on for a record equaling night?

Leon Crascall: Jack Wilshere should go to Russia just because Jordan Henderson is rubbish

jay Barnes: Players like Wilshere (severely prone to injuries) must get special dispensation to play in an Iron Man outfit (without any weapons, of course

Dave, High Wycombe: If Arsenal were drawing 0-0 - or losing - we'd be told how terrible our squad was. If we were winning one nil, we'd be told how awful Wenger's tactics are. And now we're winning 5-0? Our players are overrated and we're going to lose on Sunday. I love supporting Arsenal, it's like a big social media hug every time we play.

    Ahhh, Dave, that's lovely.

Callum Willock and Eddie Nketiah are on for Arsenal now, they replace Danny Welbeck and Mohamed Elneny. Fill your boots lads.

    Mohamed Elneny

    Oh yes, that's lovely.

Jack Wilshere has the ball inside the area, he goes one way and then another, trying to find a yard to shoot. Instead he rolls it to his left where Mohamed Elneny is open, and he bends a beauty first time, around a defender, past the keeper and into the corner. Superb goal!

ScarletVarlet: Nice training match for Arsenal, good to give the lads a run out, but it's now time to make some changes and give some more legs a few minutes of pitch time.

Ben Edwards: I'd take Wilshere to the World Cup even as it is now, as long as he's fit. Nothing defines mediocre quite like England's midfield at present

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 71 mins

Theo Walcott has had a very good night. Thursday night Theo.

He's off now and on comes Reiss Nelson.

Willian Jose has equalised for Real Sociedad against Zenit St Petersburg. The winner of that game will top Group L, but Zenit just need to draw.

In Group J, Ostersunds led for three minutes at Hertha Berlin, but it's 1-1 now. The Swedes have qualified and will top the group unless Athletic Bilbao beat Zorya Luhansk - that's 0-0.

Zulte Waregem now lead Lazio 2-0 in a game that doesn't matter at all. Steaua have pulled one back against Lugano, it's 2-1. The Romanian side can still top the group - but need to score again.

Dave Payn: Guess Alex doesn't watch a great deal of football, just reads about it on social media a lot.

Al Mc: The same people calling Jack overrated are the same suggesting Dele (Alli) is a world beater even though he has done nothing on three months!

Jon: Don't get too optimistic, Gooners fans. Arsenal always follow up a good performance with a rubbish one. Arsenal made me give up watching football.

Rick, Manchester: Injuries have ravaged Jack's career but when he's on form he's the most naturally gifted footballer we have produced since Rooney.

Michael Parker: Wilshere scores against a Sunday pub team and all of a sudden he is world class. How many games has he played? Jack Cork played in every game, man in form No brainer.

Paul F, London: Here we go. Wilshere scores for Arsenal reserves against a league 2 side and suddenly he should be picked for England. Arsenal fans have absolutely no sense of perspective at all.

Well, Jack Wilshere has certainly warmed everyone up tonight, hasn't he?

Ian Shepherd: Nice to see six Englishman in the starting 11 and a few more on the bench. Still a chance of Theo and Jack going to Russia.

Alex: Jack Wilshere, most over-rated English player of all time. He’s playing Bate! Get a grip!

Anonymous: Wilshere should go to Russia . He wouldn't start but does give another dimension to a midfield chasing a game

Mat VP (on that Bate) own goal: Great finish. Annoyingly part of me knows Welbeck would have made a mess of it

Jon - Arsenal fan exiled in Boro: When was the last time 2 different English men scored for Arsenal?

Peter: Southgate is trying to build something with England. WC Qualifying and finals last almost 2 years. Wilshere's chances of playing are probably related to his chances of staying fit for that length of time.

    A screaming own goal!

Lovely move once more though as Jack Wilshere threads the needle to play in Theo Walcott, he rolls it square for Danny Welbeck but Denis Polyakov, sprinting back towards his own goal, can only thrash it into the roof of the net with his left foot.
