    Arsenal 3-0 Bate Borisov

Ian Darke on BT Sport says that this is confirmed as the lowest ever attendance inside the Emirates. I'm not arguing with him.

Those who have shown up have seen some decent goals already.

And when I say can you see Jack Wilshere playing in Russia I don't mean in centre mid for Krasnodar...

I could see him getting more caps as England are short on quality in central midfield if you ask me. Whether he can play in a two, I'm not so sure.

Verspertillio: Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the Jack Wilshere show

Arthur, Startford-Upon-Avon: Jack Wilshere will win the 2018 Ballon d'or.

Will NIcholls: The fact that Jack Wilshere gets overlooked by England for the likes of Henderson and Livermore pretty much sums up everything wrong with the national team at the moment

Steve Griffiths: Jack Wilshere will be hitting form just in time for World Cup

Wilshere's performance tonight is certainly throwing up some strong opinions. What do you think? Can you see Jack playing in Russia?

There has only been any movement in one of the six groups being played at the moment.

In Group G, Vikoria Plzen - winning 1-0 at Hapoel Be'er Sheva - are set to overtake Steaua - losing 2-0 to Lugano - for top spot. Although both sides had already qualified.

If Marseille fail to hold on against Red Bull Salzburg (it's 0-0), they'll be out - as third-placed Konyaspor are winning 1-0 at Vitoria Guimaraes.

Nicklas Bendtner has just equalised for Rosenborg at Vardar - both teams are already out.

Agreed Peter - Spartak Moscow and Bate Borisov have turned in some extraordinarily poor defensive displays this week...

Ricky Kelahar: Southgate says Jack isn’t playing but this is his 6th start - more than Rose who WAS in the squad

Charles Sphere: It really is too bad Wenger refuses to play English players. If he had, perhaps things would be like they were in the good old days...

Peter Holmes: Great football from Arsenal, but a Sunday league team could beat this lot they’re playing - are they strangers to tackling!?

Finley: Les Pearson, Debuchy was completely frozen out. He spent a season on loan at Bordeaux. He was actively told to leave but they couldn’t find someone to buy him so he sat in the reserves

Chris Lord: OMG... Wilshere scored? What is going on? First goal in like a century. One thing that freezes him out from England is that he hasn’t scored for so long.

Great to see Jack Wilshere back on the scoresheet isn't it? His last goals were actually for England in Slovenia, remember those?

  16. goal

GOAL - Arsenal 3-0 Bate Borisovpublished at 43 mins

    Jack Wilshere

Really well taken! Theo Walcott fires a pass into the feet of Jack Wilshere and goes for a one-two, Wilshere instead takes a touch past his man and then thumps a shot into the back of the net from 16 yards.

His first goal since his second MOTD goal of the seaosn strike against West Brom in May 2015...

Arsenal sense that a hiding could be on the cards now if they want one. Jack Wilshere is afforded loads of time 25 yards out, the crowd urge him to shoot and he does, curling one in which is pushed over by Denis Scherbitski.

As things stand, Red Star Belgrade will be joining Arsenal in the last 32. The Serbian side lead Cologne 1-0 in a winner-takes-all match.

The Germans, under new coach Stefan Ruthenbeck, need to score twice now.

In Group G, Viktoria Plzen are 1-0 up at Hapoel Be'er Sheva in a game with two teams with beery names. Lugano are 2-0 ahead at Steaua.

  20. CLOSE!published at 40 mins

    Arsenal 2-0 Bate Borisov

Theo Walcott now has four goals this season, and 108 in total for the Gunners.

Nearly 109! Theo lines up for the Bate Borisov Buffet and side foots a cross into the corner, where it's brilliantly cleared by Nemanja Milunovic.
