    Brighton 3-1 West Brom

    MOTD2 Extra

Former Blackburn and England striker Chris Sutton: "Brighton took the game to West Brom, who got a goal late on and had a bit of pressure but the manner of victory was so impressive. It wasn't a great game in the first half - Brighton got a fortunate goal - but to come out with that confidence after their start, they showed real bravery. It will be a great thing for Chris Hughton and the squad.

"It was no fluke against a battle-hardened West Brom."

Former Sunderland and Republic of Ireland midfielder Kevin Kilbane: "I'm delighted for Chris - he brings organisation and discipline to any side. The problem he's had in the Premier League before is creating goals. But he's got one or two players like Anthony Knockaert that can open sides up. I hope Brighton can now be a bit more expansive in the final third."

Former Blackburn and England striker Chris Sutton: "Alvaro Morata is better than Diego Costa - his goal yesterday epitomised that and he can finish. He didn't seem up to speed with his fitness in pre-season but he's now looking really good. He's got the cleverest movement of any striker in the Premier League."

Former Sunderland and Republic of Ireland midfielder Kevin Kilbane: "I did think Chelsea would be weaker without Costa. I loved watching him, he brought a load of different things to that side. But Chelsea might be stronger throughout the side with the signings they've brought in, although Costa did prove a spark they might lack this season."

Independent chief football correspondent Miguel Delaney: "He looked a little meek in those first two games but you can already see the transformation."

Former Blackburn and England striker Chris Sutton: "Eddie Howe looks really deflated. I am not worried about Bournemouth as I saw enough in their game against Man City - I think they have enough in an attacking sense. They have Brighton next and that is a massive game for them.

"Howe has belief about their style of play but they have always come up with results at the right time."

Former Sunderland and Republic of Ireland midfielder Kevin Kilbane: "You worry about them defensively but I do feel as though once they get through this difficult spell...he has signed a lot of players but they will get enough results at home."

Former Blackburn and England striker Chris Sutton: "I think that this season Tottenham will really push again."

Independent chief football correspondent Miguel Delaney: "Last season's home record was ridiculously good. The issue they've had for a while is that their first XI is so strong that people struggled when coming in but Fernando Llorente will offer something different."

Independent chief football correspondent Miguel Delaney: "This club has designs on breaking into the top six and have spent the money to do that but they are set up like a bottom half side. They are just so dull and boring."

Former Blackburn and England striker Chris Sutton: "It has been a tough start. They have lost their goals in Romelu Lukaku. What was alarming about Saturday was manner in which they lost. They could have lost 6-0 or 7-0."

Former Sunderland and Republic of Ireland midfielder Kevin Kilbane: "The players are going to need time to adjust - but I think we will start to season the real Everton in the second half of the season."

Manchester United played Matteo Darmian instead of Daley Blind at left-back and that was one place Stoke targeted.

They played Mame Biram Diouf high and wide, trying to target United's left-hand side. That's where the first goal came from.

I was impressed by Stoke - Darren Fletcher gives them stability in the centre and there is a bit of pace now in the side.

I thought when United went 2-1 up they would run away with it but Stoke got back at them.

  16. The sack for De Boer?published at 12:39 British Summer Time 10 September 2017

Burnley v Crystal Palace (13:30 BST)

    MOTD2 Extra

Independent chief football correspondent Miguel Delaney: "If they lose today I think he will lose his job. Either today or at least before their next game."

Former Blackburn and England striker Chris Sutton: "You have to look at who employed him - if you want to change your style of play then it will take more than three games. You just cannot sack a manager after four games if he is trying to change a style of play."

Former Sunderland and Republic of Ireland midfielder Kevin Kilbane: "If he is going to change the style of that club how many more players will he have to bring in to do that - and he has not been able to bring in 10-15 players."

    Steven Reid
Former Blackburn and Burnley midfielder on MOTD2 Extra

Burnley are a lot more settled than last time they were in the Premier League. They have a stronger squad, and if you look at the fixtures they started with - to come away with four points from the Chelsea and Spurs games is a fantastic start.

I'm not entirely surprised Frank de Boer is under pressure. When you bring in a different philosophy, it takes time to bed in and get to grips with the league.

It also takes time for the fans to buy into it - it took time when Jaap Stam came to Reading, but it grew into a successful season and it also take time at Palace

There has been a lot of speculation and it will be interesting to see what happens after this game is done.

This Palace team was built by Tony Pulis, a solid defensive unit. Counter attacking, set-pieces. Why would you go away from that? I don't get it. You should be happy to stay in the league for a few years and then maybe tweak it.

You could argue that their current XI suits the Allardyce/Pulis style of play. You need confidence in the team to play the Ajax way. To take lots of touches, make risky passes. To try and play that way at the bottom of the league is tough. It is too early to conclude that he is the wrong guy. But he must be leading the sack race.
