  1. 'Good game management'published at 14:41 British Summer Time 10 September 2017

    Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace

Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Already in this half Crystal Palace have worked the ball out wide to Jeffrey Schlupp, a header by Christian Benteke just wide.

You can see their game plan has slightly changed - to now test out Nick Pope - and that is good game management from Frank de Boer.

All the pieces of the puzzle are there for Palace, they just can't join them up. James McArthur has a meandering run through the middle, he plays a slick one-two with Jeffrey Schlupp, but the return pass is 10% overcooked and instead of being in on goal it's a goal kick.

Burnley haven't come out of the changing rooms since the break though. All Palace.

A very slow start from Burnley, who haven't had a shot since the 10th minute. The crowd lift the volume.

Good, methodical attack from Palace as they recycle the ball out wide to Jeffrey Schlupp on the left wing. He has bags of time and finds the forehead of Christian Benteke - but his header is poor and wide.

Frank de Boer seems to send someone out to warm up.

Here we go then - Frank de Boer strides purposefully back out across the Turf Moor pitch as up above Steve Parish returns to his seat. Both men chew gum, both have hands steadfastly pocketed.

Harsh words in the dressing room? Or gentle encouragement? Dutch courage?

    Swansea v Newcastle (16:00 BST)

    Arlo White
    BBC commentator

Both clubs went into the international break breathing a little easier after registering their first wins of the season.

Only last season's top seven have taken more league points than Swansea since Paul Clement's appointment in January.

But the Swans must replace the attacking output of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fernando Llorente. Renato Sanches was a coup, and Clement is banking on Wilfried Bony rediscovering his scoring touch from a prolific first spell in South Wales.

One major loss for Newcastle is manager Rafa Benitez. His absence isn't a protest against Mike Ashley's underwhelming outlay in the transfer window, but because of surgery., external His assistant Miguel Moreno will lead the Magpies.

  9. Change it?published at 14:30 British Summer Time 10 September 2017

    Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace had eight attempts on goal in that first half, and had nearly 60% of possession. But to no avail.

And Frank de Boer does not have much in attacking options on the bench. Sullay Kaikai, who has scored 12 goals for Shrewsbury in past loan spells, may be their best bet.

Frank de Boer's team have rallied since conceding the early goal, but he has to pinpoint getting crosses in as they want to test Nick Pope and see if he has got the character to play in the Premier League.

It has been a good game, and it is a very expansive Burnley team from Sean Dyche.

  11. 'One good ball needed'published at 14:22 British Summer Time 10 September 2017

    Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Lenny Johnrose
Former Burnley midfielder on BBC Radio Lancashire

Palace looked the more likely if there was going to be another goal. Burnley will be glad for that half-time. 1-0 is probably about right but you would expect Palace to step it up second half.

Saying that, Burnley look like being just one good ball between the two Palace centre-backs from scoring a second.

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at the Liberty Stadium

There's a frisson of excitement around the Liberty Stadium as Swansea City fans wait to catch a first glimpse of their side since transfer deadline day.

The most eye-catching of their signings was Renato Sanches, the highly-rated 20-year-old Portuguese midfielder who has joined on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich.

Sanches could start against Newcastle, though striker Wilfried Bony, who returned to Swansea from Manchester City on a permanent deal, might have to wait for his chance from the bench.

Still no goal for Frank de Boer. Still no points - if it stays like this. Lee Chung-yong will do well to hide as best he can in the dressing room.

Andros Townsend is such a frustrating figure to watch at times. He beats Stephen Ward, not once but twice on the right wing but decides he needs another touch and the chance is gone. At the other end Johann Berg Gudmundsson illustrates the value of an early cross as he slings in a fine ball, but Timothy Fosu-Mensah clears really well.

Townsend then has a 25-yarder saved by Nick Pope. Who gets an appreciative hair rustle from James Tarkowski.

  16. 'Palace have to test the goalkeeper now'published at 14:13 British Summer Time 10 September 2017

    Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Trevor Sinclair
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

This is a great opportunity for Nick Pope. He has been waiting for this moment, he doesn't have a lot of experience but you have to start somewhere.

Sean Dyche would not have liked to have to use him in this situation and if you are Crystal Palace you have to test the goalkeeper now.

Pope has limited experience and if you are Frank de Boer you will say to your players 'put some crosses in' and see what he is made of.

It's still Palace who are seeing more of the ball, even if that delay has rather stemmed their momentum momentarily.

They've had more possession, more shots. But that awful error in the third minute has been so very costly.
