What a substitution by Eddie Howe to bring on Jordon Ibe.

He has not been at his best since being at the club but he has had a great influence in this game.

He slipped the ball through to Jermain Defoe and we all know what was going to come.

He smashed home a finish, he did not even have to look.

That is why you have to keep Defoe on the pitch. He has the killer instinct that is being clinical in the box.

Well, Jermain Defoe has waited a full 5,977 since his last Bournemouth goal, in a 3-3 draw at Reading on 5 May 2001 as the Cherries missed the Division Two play-offs by a whisker.

This game has really come alive now as Brighton win another corner. Their delivery from set pieces has caused Bournemouth a few problems but this time Asmir Begovic makes a confident catch from Shane Duffy's corner.

Good work by Jermain Defoe as he skips over a couple of challenges to keep a Bournemouth attack alive. Charlie Daniels then pings an inviting cross into the area but there's no-one close to it. Chance gone for the hosts.

Bournemouth try to work something as Ryan Fraser clips the ball into the area for Joshua King, but he can't shake off his marker before tumbling just outside the area. He wants a free-kick but gets nothing.

What a buy Pascal Gross is looking to be for Brighton. He created more chances than any other player in the Bundesliga last season and his assist for Solly March's goal means he has now been involved in all four of Brighton's goals so far this season.

That goal has really brought Brighton to life and they are on the hunt for a second.

It was a brilliant bit of play from Brighton. They were very calm on the ball.

Charlie Daniels was in position but has to do much better. The quality of the delivery from Pascal Gross was brilliant.

Solly March has been one of the better players on the pitch and he deserves that goal, heading home from close range.

That might just bring Brighton out of their shell and encourage them to be a bit more adventurous.

Brighton twice go close to opening the scoring as first, Shane Duffy and then Davy Propper's headers from a corner are cleared off the line by Andrew Surman before Dale Stephens' effort from the second corner hits the underside of the bar and bounces down on the line but not over it before Asmir Begovic claims the ball.
