Matt McGuire: Friday night football Bournemouth v Brighton is like a Premier League Stars in Their Eyes... tonight Matthew I'm going to be League Two

Alexander Turner: Admittedly not thrilling, but certainly not terrible! The Cherries play genuinely lovely (albeit somewhat blunt) football.

Rory, Liverpool: Whoever's bright idea it was to schedule this snore-fest as the focus of our Friday night should have his/her job looked into.

Stuart Wonden: Bournemouth may have had a slow start in terms of points but Watford is the only bad result

John: Need to announce at half-time that there's no points available for a 0-0 tonight. Such low quality!

Decky: Don't understand why Bournemouth bought Defoe. Good player but he forces King deeper and doesn't suit their style.

It is tough when a team is sitting back, you have to work the ball around and make decisions quicker. Jermain Defoe has had to feed off scraps.

Eddie Howe will somehow need to a give a half-time speech that gives them confidence and not to lay into them too much. He needs to tell them to stay calm as it is not going their way.

Does Chris Hughton want to win the match? He will be content with a point.

But you will not catch Bournemouth in a worse state throughout the season. Players making wrong decisions, not playing passes well. He will make that decision later in the game.

      Bournemouth 0-0 Brighton

Not a classic, but it's understandable why it hasn't exactly been an open, fast-paced game.

Bournemouth are desperate for a positive result while for Brighton, every point - especially away from home - is vital as they look to survive in the Premier League.

      Needs must.

      Bournemouth 0-0 Brighton

One last attack for Bournemouth but there's just so little room for them to work something when they get to the edge of Brighton's area and Marc Pugh, under pressure, over hits his ball to Charlie Daniels.

We'll, we've almost made it until half time. Just one minute to go.

Not a memorable half of football...

Jermaine Jenas has been talking about Joshua King's role with Jermain Defoe. It is so interesting to see Defoe just now engaged in some detailed conversation clearly about how he wants King to link up with him.

      Bournemouth 0-0 Brighton

Eddie Howe doesn't want Bournemouth to lose their identity despite their bad start and they are persisting with keeping the ball on the ground and passing it about. Problem is they are lacking bite in the final third.

Brighton are more than happy to let Bournemouth have the ball where they can't do any damage.

      Backpass?

Davy Propper intercepts a cross with his second touch resulting in the ball being knocked back for keeper Mat Ryan to pick up. Bournemouth players claim it was a backpass, but Craig Pawson doesn't see it that way.

Liam Rosenior, with Joshua King behind him, takes no chances with a ball into the box and knocks it behind for the first corner of the game.

A chance for Bournemouth, but one they waste as they play it quickly before Ryan Fraser is knocked off the ball by Tomer Hemed.

      Chance!

The closest we've come to a goal so far as Jermain Defoe turns and shoots from just outside the area but his effort whistles just past the post.

Bournemouth are just as guilty at squandering possession as Harry Arter loses the ball to Davy Propper, who races off towards the Cherries' goal but chipped just over.
