Manchester United have looked a little sluggish at the start of the second half. They've not been able to generate the same levels of intensity.

  2. CLOSE!published at 49 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

A better start from Liverpool, with Philippe Coutinho involved more and more. His shot is deflected into the side-netting for a corner. Ashley Young then concedes a free-kick wide on the left. Can anyone find a good delivery?

  3. CLOSE!published at 47 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

Phil Jones plays a really slack ball and Emre Can picks up the pieces, Liverpool attack down their left but when the ball reaches Roberto Firmino on the fringe of the six-yard box his effort is well charged down - and he was flagged offside as well.

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

Manchester United have been formidable rather than fluent so far but with Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford among their subs that could change if needs be.

Is 0-0 a good result for the visitors?

Sam Luckhurst: Phil Jones excellent and solid half from Chris Smalling. Magnificent save from De Gea. United's forwards not at it.

Jon Coles: Lukaku not getting booked evens out all the fouls Atkinson has missed or given to Liverpool incorrectly.

Dave Webb: No one will care about how United play this game if they end the season as champions. Next season? Maybe.

His voice is known to millions, and he's probably doing this game now, but less people know that commentator Martin Tyler is also first-team coach at Hampton & Richmond Borough.

That is why we've written a feature about it, which you can read here.

Sixth-tier part-timers Borough host National League South rivals Truro City (15:00 BST) in one of 32 fourth qualifying round ties this weekend - the winners joining clubs from League One and League Two in Monday's first-round draw.

"Everybody in non-league has another job. It's just that everyone knows what mine is," 72-year-old Tyler, who has commentated on 20-plus FA Cup finals in his career, told BBC Sport.

  11. Sue faces the 'chip challenge'published at 13:21 British Summer Time 14 October 2017

    BBC Sport Facebook

Time for a bit of half-time entertainment. Former England international Sue Smith is doing the chip challenge over on the BBC Sport Facebook page.

What's that, I hear you cry. Nope, Sue isn't seeing how many greasy chips she can scoff in a minute - she's seeing how times see can knock a ball into a bucket from distance.

We tried it in the office yesterday. It's harder than it looks...

  12. 'Mourinho will know that a point here will be good'published at 13:19 British Summer Time 14 October 2017

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

    Danny Mills
Ex-Man City and England defender at Anfield for 5 live Sport

That half of football was exactly what we all expected. Some were saying United would be gung-ho and really go for it today. Never going to happen.

Jose Mourinho will know that a point here will be good and, if they nick a goal and take all three points, then so much the better.

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

Both sides had one good chance in that first half, but David de Gea produced a superb save to deny Joel Matip and Romelu Lukaku could only produce an average shot to not beat Simon Mignolet.

  14. 'Nothing at all in that'published at 13:17 British Summer Time 14 October 2017

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

    Danny Mills
Ex-Man City and England defender at Anfield for 5 live Sport

There's no blood, no cut on Lovren, and I've just seen a replay of the incident when Lukaku clips him. There is nothing at all in that. Lovren's reaction, to roll over at least 10 times holding on to his face... well, come on man. That's poor.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 14 October 2017

It got better as the half wore on. But no goals as of yet at a simmering Anfield...

  16. Schmeichel status under threat?published at 13:16 British Summer Time 14 October 2017

    Liverpool 0-0 Man Utd

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Anfield

Peter Schmeichel, the man widely accepted as Manchester United's greatest ever goalkeeper, is at Anfield this afternoon working for international TV.

Such is David de Gea's form over the past few years there must be some serious debate about whether he has eclipsed the great Dane.

De Gea's problem, as with comparisons with Edwin van der Sar, is that he has not won a Champions League during his time at Old Trafford.

  17. Liverpool crank up pressure, United resilientpublished at 13:15 British Summer Time 14 October 2017

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

Liverpool have had four shots on target so far, United just the one.

But both goalkeepers have made huge contributions.

Hats off so far to De Gea and Mignolet.

  18. CLOSE!published at 44 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

Manchester United's best chance! It opens up as Romelu Lukaku plays a one-two with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the ball comes back to the Belgian about 15 yards out but his shot is straight at Simon Mignolet. Should do better?

Dejan Lovren is then left in a heap after a tackle with the big striker, he is caught in the face by Lukaku's foot but that looked entirely accidental.

  19. Who's up-front?published at 13:13 British Summer Time 14 October 2017

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

    Danny Mills
Ex-Man City and England defender at Anfield for 5 live Sport

Liverpool are lacking an out-and-out centre-forward. There are times when Firmino and Coutinho - who are Liverpool's most dangerous players - have looked up to see only one man in the United box.
